wasn't Damat the one who shot Zyal? (Dukat's daughter)

i'm currently watching the daily DS9 reruns on dutch TV, we just had that episode where O'Brien timeshifts

So many despised DS9 for its "Standing still" slang given to it. And that sucks, because DS9 was literally the BEST of all Trek series, with a few exceptions - It had all the great feelings of Babylon 5, with state-of-the art effects and sets to boot. It had tension between every character at some point during the show. It had some of the best storylines and arcs of any sci-fi. The DVDs of DS9 are coming out , and I've been watching them - And really enjoying them, appreciating just how great it really was.  Boy do I love Garak, Kira, Quark, Odo ! hehe !

Quark & Odo :D They were just too funny  :p Also Garak was intruiging. He always gave you something to think about.

But yes, I must agree that at certain moments there were just filler episodes. But even those could have an effect on the cgaracters/story later on. I mean, certain events that happened 3 seasons ago could still come back.

I just watched it last night (stayed up till 12:00 to watch it!)

Best graphics in a ST movie I've seen yet!

Scimitar warbird :eek::yes: wicked ship!

2 nit-picks though...

1: How can the Scimitar fire while cloaked? I know the klingon "BOP" in ST:VI could fire while cloaked...but...how does it fire while cloaked...hmmm...

2: Is it just me or did the Ent: E get repaired REALLY fast. I mean it got banged up pretty good, but how could it be repaired in such a short period of time!

I'd like to see the Scimitar in FS2...that'd be cool...
----------------------------
Shivan 1: Hey Bob!

Shivan 2: What?

Shivan 1: Take a look at this thing man!

Shivan 2: I'm busy...man...stay still! It doesn't hurt that much does it!

Shivan 1: Bob...quite playing with your food!

Shivan 2: *looks at the Scimitar decloaking* Whoa...can we do that?

Shivan 1: Um...*looks in the Sathanas Drivers Manual*...nope...but it says here, that we can cause a "temperal-subspace-solar cascade".

Shivan 2: Who cares, I want a disappearing/reappearing ship!

Shivan 1: ...You can't have one...but, you can have my left-over headz

Shivan 2: Screw the ship! GIMME!!!
-----------------------------------------------

Um...sorry...bored...heh...um...Look over there!

*runs*

Look closely, it's doesn't just have one cloaking device, but several. When it fires, it decloaks the part of the ship that it's firing from.

Let's see available captains:
Archer: Probably has been dead for a few centuries.
Kirk: Dead (ignore his books)
Picard: Still active-duty
Sisko: Didn't he enter the wormhole to hang out with the prophets or something?
Janeway: Admiral, so no missions for her

I'd say the captain would have to be Picard then. I'd like to see Spock on there, maybe 7 of 9, and throw in Scotty as Chief Engineer, and put O'Brian back in his old job: Transporter Chief :p

Wow. Discussing the same Star Trek movie for nearly a whole year. And to think there are people who wonder why they never get a second date.

Seriously though, looking at that list isnlt it odd that the only one to have gotten a promotion to flag rank is the one who managed to lose her ship and crew on their maiden voyage and basically never really achieved much?

Starfleet is obviously run along the same guidelines as the British Army

Kirk got promoted to Admiral but he destroyed the Enterprise, killed a bunch of Klingons and disobeyed direct orders (to stay away from Earth) and so was demoted back to Captain.

Picard was offered a promotion to Admiral and Commandant of Starfleet Academy back in the first or second season, but turned it down in favor of staying on as the Captain of the Enterprise.

Yeah, and I don't blame him :p As a starship captain you can gain far more prestige and is more fun as well :p

Meh - there was at least a full year break - besides, blame Paramount for forcing me to having to wait until the DVD came out before seeing it. :hopping:

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Yes, and we all know what the guys who offered Picard the promotion were up to. Good job he turned them down, no?

I feel they should have kept some of those deleted scenes in the movie. Would have added a bit more to the storyline, making it seem finished.

But then they wouldn't have all that much to put in the "Deleted Scenes" section of the DVD ;)

Well, I think it doesn't really matter that much to most of us whether there are deleted scenes in the movie or not. We are just aiming for the movie on the DVD. That's all.:D

Tell that to the studios who insist on littering the DVDs with all that extra crap, even to the point of wasting whole discs on it...
