Since the first release of the 3.7.4 release candidate, I've been receiving a message notification from my anti-virus/internet security program (i.e. Kaspersky) upon starting up a nightly build, whether is release or debug. It says FS2 Open from the Low Restricted group is trying to receive audio stream, which presented four options: Trust this application, Allow now, Block now, and Close application, do not trust. I normally clicked either the first two options without checking the save rules. I would like to see this disappear. I don't know whether anyone who had this with different AV/IS vendors...

We have no control over how or why the detection routines in Antivirus programs are triggered. If you want these messages to go away, you will have to define rules to that effect yourself; there is little we can do to help.

I know that, since I know how to define these rules to get these away. But I do not know whether anyone has had the same issue, and whether a code review needs to be warranted.

Think about that for a second. If there were coding rules available to mark programs as not being malware, then malware coders would use them.

So no. No "code review" is warranted.

To answer the other part of your question, when I had Kaspersky it falsely flagged fs2_open_Diaspora_R1.exe as malware, and I have seen other forum posts reporting similar issues.  I switched to Avast and have not had the problem since.

So you have a similar problem, deathspeed? Is there something happened to your previous AV? I think you are right. Kaspersky flagged this (and my night build of FS2 Open) as low-restricted group app and possibly malware.

Not any more.    I had a few other false positives with Kaspersky; every time I would check a file against another anti-malware program it would come up clean.  Rather than continuing to check every flagged file or ignoring all the warnings, I just uninstalled Kaspersky and started using Avast.  I don't think anything happened to my Kaspersky install, i think it just was a little too sensitive for my tastes.

You could always bug Kaspersky about it being a false positive.
