OT - That that that....
Brain teaser! Give me a grammatically correct sentence using the word "that" as many times in a row as you can!

Be sure to put your entries in black text so you don't spoil it for anyone else!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

One day there was a man, he had a stutter. He was walking down the road and saw a UFO - he pointed at the remarkable craft and said: "that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- that- looks just like a huge pecker!". The End.

Runs...

Is it even possible to put more than 2 'that's next to each other?

meh

Easy to make a sentence with 2 in a row, but with 3 I can't think of anything.

Hmmm... someone serious! :)

Yes, it's possible to have a COMPLETE SENTENCE with a decent number of 'that's - above 3. :)

I can think of one with two but not three:

The statement x=y implies that that which equals x also equals y.

w00t I'm the first to figure it out(with 3, any more requires commas)

Its just that that that, and that are different

Of course this is using the old english type grammar, the 'new' requires commas with any more than 2 objects... so it would be "Its just that that, that, and that are different"

meh, this isn't right though is it?

I thought of one with three, but it has a comma...ah well, I'm getting close:

The last statement implies, in addition to that, that that which equals 2x also equals 2y.
