Screencap Contest: December 2019
As 2019 draws to its conclusion, let this year be remembered by some as glorious as the second coming of their lord/lady and savior, or as an omen of a coming apocalypse. But we're gonna kick it off in style. This month's theme is FREE but I'm making some changes to the contest as a whole. For starters, rule 3:

Quote
3: Max 3 entries per person!

is removed for this month's contest. I want everyone to dish out as many screenshots they can possibly conjure. I want break the internet with how amazing FSO has become. Do not cherry pick your screenshots, show me the good, amazing, bad, and ugly of Freespace.

Second, I am removing Rule 1 as well;

Quote
1: No HUD! (Jump nodes are ok though!)

But there is an exception it. Not all of your submissions can have HUDs. If you have more than one submission with a HUD, those subsequent submissions will be disqualified. The HUD should not be an excuse for laziness. I want the world to see what Freespace is truly about, not just how pretty it is, but the core aspect of the game itself.

Third, the winner of this month's contest will receive 2 points instead of 1. That way everyone has a chance of winning this year's screencap competition. Also, if you submit more than 3 screenshots, you will receive two extra points (to a max of 4). So, for example, if Nyctaeus submitted four screenshots, he would receive two points, making his score 4. However, if MitoPL submitted four screenshots, he would only receive one point, making his score 4. The idea is to make it so anyone who participates this month could have a chance to win for the whole year. Just, well, they gotta work for it.

Now, lemme see what the Freespace community can conjure, show me what we got!

The rules are:

1: No HUD! (Jump nodes are ok though!)
1: HUD is ok, so long as you do not exceed one submission that includes the HUD or HUD elements. (Jump Nodes do not count as a HUD element)
2: Images must be presented as they would be as seen with only the FSO engine rendering the image. Remember that these entries help to show off what the engine can do for new players! So that means no after the fact photoshopping (except for cropping), and no external shader programs (reshade and the like). No lens flares, contrast shifts, colorizers, etc.
3: Max 3 entries per person!
4: Again, these screenshots are a way to promote Freespace and the FSO Engine - let's keep it in good taste.
5: Four or more submissions will give you an additional two points, up to 4. (If your score is 0, your score will then be 2. If your score is 2, your score will then be 4. If your score is 3, your score will then be 4.)

Re: Screencap Contest: December 2019
Okay, now that I think of it it might be a good idea for contestants to enclose their entries within a hidden text tag. Perhaps we could have that as a temporary rule for this month?

Example (quote my post if you don't know how hidden text tag works):
