Checking out GalCiv III. Good experience so far. Accusations that it plays the same as GalCiv II seem to be falling flat IMO. The ideology system is an interesting addition and I like the switch to malevolent/pragmatic/benevolent rather than evil/neutral/good (which was really just evil/good/stupid most of the time).

Also, as someone who's personal collection rivals a light RCT while being the small collection in the group: Lightweights.

Honestly, I have over 1100 models representing a reinforced RCT with infantry/armor/aerospace assets on my own. Everybody else except a couple people is in the battalion range, usually with just 'Mechs.

But then, nobody else in my group has any Unseen models either.

I'm sitting on a little over 150 'Mechs, almost a battalion in armor, the equivalent of nearly six regiments of infantry (with their smaller numbers per relative unit).

As stated before, I'm the small collection in the group.  The heavy hitter just last month brought in a collection of the stuff he'll never even open, and then calmly sat a little over 600 'Mech, tank, ASF, BA, protomech, and warship blisters on the table.

EDIT: Also I rediscovered Leviathans the board game.  Three years after my last post on the site, I still hold the crown for most time online by four days.

It sounded so interesting, my game group played a couple games I couldn't attend, then it just seemed to dissapear.

Catalyst had a spectacular problem with the miniatures manufacturer.  The (Chinese) manufacturer went bankrupt halfway through the first production run, and then sold Catalyst the completed sets at retail to recoup losses.  They also dodged giving back the masters and molds, on account of bankruptcy.

As of right this moment, Catalyst is pursuing miniatures for Shadowrun.  If those do well (and there's reason to expect they will), then Leviathans may see a second effort.

Anyone tried Galactic Civs III yet?, I'm having trouble deciding if it's worth getting.

I'd say it's worth it. There is still a lot to be added - several diplomacy-related features, good AI, some interface usability improvement - but what's there is good, and GalCiv games tend to have very good post-release development/support because Stardock is awesome.

Speaking of miniatures.  I have been considering snagging up all the lance packs.  I got the Anniversary boxed set, and the minis in there are terrible, I am to understand that the new plastic minis are pretty good and the lance packs contain some of whats in the box set and some new ones, so i can replace my bad miniatures and fill up the empty foam in my BT minis bag.
