I wasn't aware that bloom radius depended on screen resolution. Shouldn't it always be rendered to the same sized 512x512 texture before being applied to the scene?

Being able to tweak/increase the radius for the bloom would be nice though.

I just finished importing the Ralari I was working on into FSO for Woolie's Wing Commander: Advance Guard mod.  Textures are still WIP, but it looks awesome even in its current form.

It reminds me of Vic Viper. Also, I can't see these 10k polys and its way too blokcy to my liking. Good concept, however, and glowmaps FTW.

I'm still working on the texture, and that means adding colours, adding some details, making a bumpmap, whatever...  The texture is not finished! That's why it's gray as of now.

Now, how one could be so clueless? Well, let me enlighten you. This ship comes from a rather well known game, called Wing Commander. There's a rather well established appearance the Ralari has, and it's definitely not silver in color. Talon, is much more oriented in classics than you, and especially in early WC games, so I was surprised to see it colored like that. If this was a design choice, he'd have to justify it. Unlike most games today, Wing Commander does have a fairly well developed plot.
Good to know it's just because it's WiP though. A silver Ralari looks just... off, for some reason. Not exactly bad, but very strange.

Yes, there's indeed plenty of silver, which you don't see most of the time, as the best approach angle for it is from behind (where there isn't much sliver). And if you look at the one you're escorting, this means you look away from the fighters attacking it. Which means it blows up. Thankfully, if you let it blow, you get to the "middle patch", which is rather interesting plot-wise. That's a good mission to eject on and get yourself that medal.

I know all of this. I was just saying that maybe, just maybe, they wanted to deviate from that?
