Yeah, I've never heard of anyone shoving a rocket up their own ass before!! LOL!

technically, it would be firing.  Otherwise it goes from a joke to, well, lock up your children and call the morality police territory.

Re: What do you guys do when your bored?

Here is a paint recap of my first (one stage) rocket launch. I'm almost positive that the fins were croocked, but those turdwipes at the store said they were fine, so I'm angry!

When the first stage falls off, the second stage should ignite right away. If the engines are put in correctly, of course. I put the wrong one on top, so it delayed 5 seconds at the top instead of at the launch pad. Then it flipped over mid-air and ZOOM!! (zoom zoom!) Flew straight into the ground! BLAM!!!

Speaking of aerial experiments, another thing I do when I'm bored: Paper airplanes. They are awesome. All kinds of interesting things in aerodynamics can be easily understood by experimenting with different kinds of design. :nervous:
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

When I'm bored, I trigger random E-mail alerts for old threads on HLP.  ;7

How many of you just got one?

Seriously though...I design and build model rockets too.  It's fun, cheap, and other people think it's awesome.  I launched one for a Physics project.  Some of the school staff didn't know what was happening and they called the State Police.  If you want a real time consuing challenge, design your own rocket.  I'm working on one right now, the Javelin SSR.  Depending on the math results, I might have to get FAA clearance so I don't accidentally shoot down a Cessna...  If it works, I won't find it.  If it fails, I won't find it.  Four stages of D-Engines will do that...

Oh yeah, what happened in the second pic is referred to as a "Worm Guillotine."  I'm not kidding, that's the technical term.

Bush (Verb) -- To do stupid things with confidence.

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

Bumper stickers at my college:

"Frodo failed.  Bush got the Ring."
