Bug with Blue PLanet Mod in FRED - Dante and Preserver Ships can't be deleted
I'm having an issue - I made a little mission involving a Super-Juggernaut SD Dante and  Vishan Preserver.  When the Preserver was killed my game crashed and closed instantaneously.  I went to FRED to see what's up and noticed that I cannot delete either the Dante or the Preserver.  I can change their names, ship classes, orders, wings, etc. but I cannot delete these ships.

I went through and deleted all events and orders related to these ships, then I got frustrated and deleted all the events, orders, and other ships/objects (aside from the player ship) in the entire mission.  I still cannot delete these ships from FRED (regardless of what I have since changed their classes to), and when they go down in-game (once again, regardless of ship class)  they take the program down with them...

I'm using 3.6.12 RC4 for both FRED and Freespace2.  I haven't got war in heaven yet, though.

First, use 3.6.12 FINAL, Inferno version.

Second, make sure you have the latest version of AoA.

Third, use a FRED debug build, and post the FRED2_Open.log.

Well, I'm grabbing the updates now (thanks) and I found a faster resolution for the problem: I deleted the mission, and I was not able to replicate the problem... eh.

This tends to happen sometimes to me. It doesn't happen often enough for me to notice what causes it and I usually don't try to reproduce it too hard (I probably should). The easiest way is to go into the mission in a text editor and delete the ships yourselves (and modify the number of ships entry), but if they're the centerpoint of the mission then it may be easier to start over anyway.

I thought it tended to happen when disbanding wings but given the particular ships it happened to in your case I doubt that's what happened here.

In fact, I think I'll play around with FRED for a bit and see if I can get it to happen again.
