Amazing what second tries create [Concept Art]
Since a few weeks ago I've had an image in my mind for the successor to my old Thunder fighter. These images in my mind sadly utterly failed to translate onto paper. And I mean it. To describe:

The Thunder is supposedly a 'heavy assault fighter' in my universe. Bigger, tougher, a bit slower than the Blizzard but has at least twice the firepower. However my recent designs for my universe has rendered my old Thunder design completely obsolete. So much so that It barely even fits into my universe aesthetically. Just for comparison here's a render:

As you can see the old thunder must definitely does not look 'heavy' compared to the remodeled Blizzard. It doesn't even feel like the right aesthetic. So I went to my trusty brand new Tablet PC and began sketching. I dare not show the first iterations... but here is the result of my subsequent tries brought up:

Certainly it fits the aesthetic  I was looking for and it certainly does fit the 'heavy' look. The criteria I set for the new Thunder was that
Quote
1) Newer make, supposedly more advanced looking than the Blizzard.
2) Very very heavy. Possibly 3x the mass of the Blizzard at most.
3) Must look excessively aggressive, lots of diagonals and fearsome 'eyes' cockpit.

I'm still a bit wobbly on the initial sketchup so far. I also forgot to figure out where the heck the thing mounts guns!  :p

As it is I'm pretty distracted in multiple other projects, but I would like to sometime get this made. Some feedback to help a modder out?
I have created a masterpiece.

hmmmmmmmmmm

The Blizzard has some rather flimsy-looking connections where the engines/missile pods attach to the main body. Maybe beef those up a bit for the heavy assault fighter.

Add to the fuselage. Maybe add some stuff in between the top and bottom wings on either side, maybe housing another gun bank.

The cockpit looks really sleek and thin in the Blizzard. Widening it a bit might make it look more robust.

Re: Amazing what second tries create [Concept Art]
Well hunter the flimsy connections are there mostly because I didn't want to have to merge the wing into the engines, and the connector design was to 'jump a gap' in the engine model. The new model might not have such a thing so that's over with. You just gave me a slight idea for a weapon between the wings, I'll sketch it up for a try and see. Lastly the Blizzard Cockpit was actually partially based off of an F-16. The 16 cockpit is very very small and tight and I kind of figured such tightness would be acceptable.

I really like the design you send me in PM recently. Sorry if I didn't take time to answer you. Could we expect to see also a remake or the released of your olds capital ships designs that were never released ?

Do you intend to improve the internal cockpit ? The one from the Blizzard was a low qualoity but the structure was good.

Re: Amazing what second tries create [Concept Art]
Well I had 3 capital ships for my old project but only the ones I released had available textures. As for plans, if I can ever force the time I plan on remaking the 'classic' models. HTL them to speak. I've decided to canonize them as earlier varients so imagine the Hurricane V I released but higher quality. Still the insane 14 turrets. On that note I'm afraid to say that my new Hurricane model has fallen through with me. There are too many aesthetic mistakes around the middle area. Also I've learned some new methods so it'd be doing it a favor to redo.

As for the old Blizzard cockpit, you bet if I can find time... I'm split between like 5 different mod projects.
I have created a masterpiece.
