As Androgeos posted in Gen Disc., I found an old site which had some very interesting, if not defunct, information on FreeSpace 1.

If you scroll down, you'll see it said that FreeSpace 1 was divergent.

Anyway, it also links to two, very interesting interviews with some of the Volition staff, which both also have some defunct information, such as ejecting pilots and the likes.

Figured I should post this on the forums in better detail.

Always thought TEF stood for Terran Expeditionary Force, which would make a lot more sense.
