  • I'm a magic man, I've got magic hands.
oooo I remember the legos! :D still have those on my shelf.

as for the beanie.. uh.. I don't have any beanies. Must be my Stunt Double, Frank. He likes to walk around half naked and drunkardly. The family has to give him his bone to get him off the couch sometimes, usually it's with a grumble though.

Aw ****.. there he 'goes'. I hate cleaning piss stains out of the carpet.

i'm TELLING you kid... the pictures must've been from a webcam, cause they only show you from like the bottom of your shoulders up, but you've got a beanie on, and you're posing in all of them

want me to embarass you and post them?  no?  good, then be quiet

EDIT: let me refresh your memory... it was a few months ago, and remember Shrike said something in another thread (it was one of the Stickied threads at the time) about how you should go to a bar and pick up chicks instead of spamming, and i said there's no way he (you) could get a girl because you're too ugly, and then you posted a picture of you with your middle finger up.

remember?

it gets worse if you walk away occasionally, yeah, because the other person often walks after you, intimidating, perhaps pushing some more, etc.  trust me, i've gotten in more fights than most of you put together, and i'm not proud of it.  fighting does not work, not at all.

EDIT:

you're wrong, you can control that... if you "flip" it's your fault.  and in most cases you'll lose

:wtf: You know bog all about British Culture or Lad Culture. You know bog all, about the culture of being solid and being hard. South Africa and the US are not examples of British Culture. Knowing different cultures does not make you an expert on every culture in the world.

Zeronet's right.  In my other post I mentioned my cousin in the UK who fought back and now people leave him alone.  In the US it's quite different - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and you may even get sued.

We ought to just post a bunch of different strategies and let kasperl pick the one that works best for him (which we seem to be doing); this is an extremely subjective topic. :)

In the US, you get all that segregation with Jocks and stuff. Over here, none of that exists.

Yeah, it's revolting.  The sports culture in grade school is almost a caste system.  Actually, the sports culture in the US is messed up in just about every way you can think of.  Name any facet of sports, and I can probably name something stupid about it. ;)

Not to mention that the entire US is emphatically NOT like whatever he seems to have seen- I can guarantee, for every tough guy you get in Britain, we get two druggie ghetto wannabes who'll bust your jaw open soon as look at you.

It's a big ****ing country, man. Even I haven't seen nearly all there is to see, and I've been all the **** over it. Yeah, there are relatively soft places where your strategies MIGHT work, but there are just as many places on the other extreme, where you're liable to get shanked for looking at some Mexican teen-gangster punk crossways.

Hell, one of my good friends who went to college in Richmond this year, apparently she's heard two shootings right nearby and seen a whole squad of tough guys whale on some poor dude for little or nothing at all. I'm illustrating extremes, here, but it's just to illustrate, since you don't seem to listen when I talk about more normal life. The whole world is NOT a lovey-dovey place. Not for adults, not for pimply high-school teenagers, not for anybody.

As Stryke says, don't try to give the impression that over in the UK it's so big and bad... if anything it's much milder than most schools in the US

for one the US is much, much bigger than the UK and naturally we have people in our schools from around the world (because they flock to the US, what can i say ;) :D) so we've got from everywhere.

you may have some big muscular bully, but as Stryke said, for every one of those we've got 10 knife-weilding, ganged mexicans looking for a fight

****ing spot on, what I was about to post almost exactly.

Stealth, also when I say that I "flip" and I can't control it, I seriously mean it, I remember nothing that happens bar a second or two and have to rely on people filling me in afterwards.

No amount of counting, breathing techniques or other anger management crap can work. Like I said I snap, it's like a reflex that I have no say in when it kicks in.

Zeronet: "You know, things aren't usually so nice as you try to make out."

Me: "Yeah, here's fifteen examples from real life. And that's just off the top of my head."

Stealth: "Nah, you guys are full of it! You can always just make friends!"

Zeronet: "Well, maybe where YOU live."

Me: "Nope, not even here. I've seen it. Been in it. Heard about tons of it."

Stealth: "Nope, you're all just wrong. I know, I've been to one or two places without getting my ass pulped and have a theory! A theory!"

Stealth: "I'm on to you... you're all just trying to prove me wrong because of [insert random ulterior motive here]! You're making it all up!"

...

Something tells me this conversation isn't worth carrying on.

yeah, i guess not.

pretty much:

kasperl = looking for ideas on how to stop getting bullied
Knight Templar = claims fighting's the only way out
Zeronet = claims the UK is big and bad, and none of us have any idea what goes on in their schools
01010101 = agrees with Zeronet constantly
Stryke = urges everyone to fight everyone else
Stealth = urges everyone not to fight anyone
everyone else = urges him to fight

No, the point is  that they AREN'T tough guys, most of the time they're little pricks that hang around in gangs and feel superior because you may be "different" (personally I find normality a highly subjective term). Like zero said (and you yourself earlier) ,you stand up to them and they tend to back down. similar deal with gangs.

I'd say for the most part they're just wannabe's.

However, I don't know if your familiar with Gypsies (gypo's). Not the happy funfair kind, these are pricks that would stab you for complimenting them, they seem to have a stronghold in my town and you either avoid them completely or have the **** kicked ouuta you.

I guess twice means constantly. But no, the guy lives here and understands what the lad culture is like over here, of course I'm going to agree with him because I've seen for myself the type of behaviour he was talking about, almost every single time I go out.

Now let's not go beating up on Stealth. :) Walking away has its own merit, and he did say that self-defense is necessary if you're cornered.  The bullies may not recognize the moral superiority of just walking away, but the people who matter will.

EDIT: Too many posts! I was responding to StrykeIX.

considering you've only posted in this thread 7 times (up till now) and of those 7 times you've only made 2 points, and those two points have both been exactly what Zeronet has said

not mexicans

in america they're called "mexicans"...

no offense to mexicans or anything, but they're notorious for getting into fights, gangs, stabbings, etc.

EDIT:  but anyway, the bottom line is i'm saying don't fight unless you absolutely have to to defend yourself... these guys all say "fight, because even if you lose you'll be respected"...

...yeah right

Odd, I didn't see that posted.

Stealth, yes, like I said, it's happened like three maybe four times in my life. I maintain that I'm a total pacifist and I will not fight, I agree with a lot of what you say but not all of it because sometimes you can't let yourself be a target.

Also, British culture is violent just not in a trigger happy, ghetto style way. You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've seen people starting fights for no reason other than the fact that they are pricks plain and simple.

Most of the problem stems from "lad" culture which is something uniquely British which I guess is why you don't really understand it. Personally I don't really understand it myself :)

Call it reflexes.

And no, that's not what we said at all, and you know it. If you don't, you haven't been reading, you've been talking out your ass for the sheer joy of reading your own text. We also didn't "urge everyone to fight everyone else" or anything of the sort.
