Well Fractux almost certainly has uncompressed versions of the files lying about so I think we need to wait for him to notice the problem.

I had the same problem with win XP zip functons, download and install the trial of WINZIP, that worked.
"It's going critical! Quick, to the backyard bunker!"

Just on a whim I decided to try using the newest version of winzip and that worked! Winzip 8.0, WinRar, and StuffIt wouldn't work, but Winzip 9.0 did. Thanks for the suggestion Pence. Cire, if you're reading this just go to www.winzip.com and grab 9.0.

EDIT: I know what the problem is. I used 7zip to compress some of the files into zip format using bzip2 compression method. I don't remember which files I recompressed, but this is the only thing I did differently. I'll do some more testing and recompress the files into regular zip format.

Fractux, I just wanted to say a big thanks for running the FTP for these files, I only just discovered FS2 last week (what have I been missing eh), got the HotU version but absolutely worlds better with all the missing stuff you're supplying.... nice one!  Saved me buying it at an inflated price from some dodgy Amazonite! :D

The link asks for a password, but when I type it in It says I got it wrong. It didnt ask me to log in yesterday! ANyone have anywhere else I can get this?

sometimes there are just too many people logged on.

otherwise the user name is "freespacer" and the passeord is "1234" (no quotes).

Excuse me, but might anyone direct me to CD1? I swear I bought it legally but I seem to have misplaced it. I have CD2 and CD3 here on my desk but that doesn't get me anywhere.. If you could help, thanks, although I'm asking quite a lot.

The entire CD's aren't up on the FTP but if you get the HotU version you can work around not having CD1.

If you can't find HotU there's a big banner link to it in my FAQ below.
