Flying tank-
Make a mulitplayer mode with grenades turned on. Get a partner and run them over with the tank. Wait for them to respawn, then keep running them over in the same spot until you have a pile of plasma grenades. Drive the tank over the grenades, back far away, and shoot the grenades with an rocket. The tank will fly a good 50 feet in the air! Pretty funny to see:yes:

Its only works in co-op... Multiplayer has no secondary explosions...

For all the naysayers, its an issue with DX9 performance on nVidia cards.  The new drivers are supposed to help...but they aren't out yet.

*(&%  Kinda wish they'd mention this sort of thing in the reviews......

I think in the entire Covenent army, the two most irritating enemies are the Jackal and the two Elite versions. The opne carrying the Plasma Rifle and the other that carries the laser blade.

Jackals hide behind the shield and fire. Sometimes, if you are not careful, you may be hit by the overcharged blast from their Plasma Pistol and your shields go to zero and warning alarms start buzzing from your speakers. Then I have to retreat back to the last corner and wait for my shields to come back up.

The Elites are equipped with shields as well. So, they take a longer time to kill and they are very agile and like to roll a lot so that you cannot hit them. There are also the cloaked versions with energy blades that can kill you in one swipe.

and the Commander Elites (the gold ones) can outrun you when they have a plasma sword... irritating when running backwards for your life...

the gold clad ones have even stronger shields... You can empty an assault rifle into them running backwards, and they won't die... Pistol works quickly, but if you rarely have the time to accrately aim for thair head while backing away quickly...

Just for the record, is anyone else having specularity and reflection problems with a GeForce 4 MX? I've got the latest everything and it still won't highlight these damn options! :(

my friend runs HPc on a G4, but he can partially see through the walls in campaign mode... And the ground and walls in Multi... Cindof interesting since you can see the enemy coming around the corners... This is with the ighest detail too... Maybe GF4 doesn't like T&L...

Hmmmmmmmm.... mines ok with walls but gets flickery with the lighting in campaign mode. It won't even consider giving me the option for Specular and Shininess, maybe because I installed it Before DirectX9b, I can't find a config file, so I suspect it's out and re-install time..... after I've completed the campaign anyway ;)

My GF4 MX420 is so poor it doesn't even render explosions. I only know when it's detonated when I see the Grunts flying off in all sorts of directions. :p

Plasma grenade anyone? They are the best thing to use to take out Elites.

but... on ledgendary, its still not enough to guarentee a kill while they run at you... Granted, it will hurt them, but they do often survive a grenade stuck to their head... (this only is talking about the commander elites, others usually die)

I hate the most are those cloaked Elites. You cannot see them until they start movinig. And they only start moving when they want to kill you up close.

I think shotgun should work fine against Elites. Best is the Plasma Rifle. Takes down their shield rather fast. A steady stream of plasma shots should prevent them from moving or rolling away from you. However, you have to watch out in case the rifle overheats and you cannot fire.

Killing Elites: the easy way,
wait for him/it to take a swing at you, side step, then shove your shot-gun up his nose.
KA-BLAM!
not so elite now eh?!

ever tiried HALO on a black and white T.V. ?
you can see those cloaked fellows no problem !

wasn't so much the telly as the scart connection. Had a similar problem when I first got a PSone.
