well, i am no vegetarian, but i do want my steak to lead a happy life before i eat it. and i think that IF you decide to kill an animal, you hsould use everything, not just take the nice tneder parts and throw the rest away.
and killing pets is something else, for once, they are the property of someone else, and they are often very important to people. with killing pets the crime is not just against the animal, but mainly against the owner, the one who loved it.

I don't know, I mean on the one hand it's true that the crime is not only in the killing of an animal - it is also in the pain that its owner feels (assuming it's a pet). Some people love their animals as they would family. Imagine the pain of loosing someone that close to you and then have them die in such a horrific way as being forced to drink antifreeze. It's a huge crime against both the animal and its owner.

That said, the animal dies. Many consider animals to be as good a companion as any human. With such love and care directed toward them - it's easy to call it murder when someone kills a pet.

Either way, it's a horrible and wrong thing to do. Those who do it should be locked away as if they had commited the same crime against a person. It may take an animal lover to understand this but then animal lovers are not in short supply.

well, dieng is bad, and might be painfull, but antifreeze is reasonably fast. if i was killed, i'd probably die thinking something about how my family and friends would deal, hoping that they'd live on. i don't believe in an afterlife, so i only see one loss for the person that dies, anything it might have done, but that's uncertain to say the least, and perhaos the pain he suffers in the process. the once that live on will have to deal with missing the dead, which is very, very hard IMO.
sonehow, i find it harder to deal with the death of somehow i never liked all that mcuh, then with the death of someone i loved a lot. the last is bad, i feel very bad, but you know how to deal with it. with the former, your feelings get in your way a lot more.

Dying in your sleep is the equivelant of being stabbed in the back while drunk. No chance to fight it. You just drift off without even knowing to make peace with whatever God you believe in. You either die or you don't. You get no say in the matter.

i don't know, i would imagine it'd be a constant struggle to get air into your burning up lungs, and that when you stop struggling, you're dead... so i think you'd struggle up till the very end, because plain reflex (unavoidable) would make you want to get air into your lungs
