Sony will fix your PS2 if it breaks for only the cost of shipping(assuming you haven't opened the console up already). Warranty is a non-issue here. Just call 'em and they'll take care of it.

I interested in Need for Speed Underground. If I bought it for my computer it would be a slide show.

Like the XBox, don't like the GC so much. Don't care about the PS2, it's old hat now anyway. ;)

Definitely worth buying one if you want to have some fun for a lot less cost than building a top PC.

Well, frankly, I think any of the current consoles are worth the money. Between the three of them however, the Xbox seems to have the least amount of exclusives. If you're looking for the widest selection, PlayStation2 is the way to go. I'm sure the box has plenty of good games all to itself though.

As far as graphics go, I'm pretty sure that the Xbox is superior to the other two consoles in terms of hardware. Ultimately however, it really depends more on the individual games.

I got all three of the systems, and Gamecube by FAR gets all of the playing time.  The games on it are just so much better than any other console.  Especially Mario Kart: Double Dash, it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

The best platform for games is the PC. :p

I had the opportunity to compare all 3 platforms running Soul Caliber 2 the other day (one of the better fighting games for the systems). The X-Box came out on top in terms of sound and picture quality. With that thing, size does matter. You can just plain fit more hardware in the thing. The GC isnt even half the size of the Box. The Cube's picture is much fuzzier than the Box. That and it needs a power brick, which I hate. The Box has an internal adapter. As for games, its a matter of preference. In my opinion, the Box has most of the good titles now. Simply because MS can just buy whatever the hell they want.

The GC is powered by ATI? My yonger brother has the system hooked up I saw on the outer case. How can the GC which has fuzzy graphics be powered by ATI?

X-Box uses a custom nVidia chip.

Will there be another version of the Xbox out, which has an updated graphic chip and processor? something that goes above the megahertz? maybe 1.5 gig processor. maybe more RAM to.

Probably if they catch wind of Nintendo or Sony making a new platform. It hasnt been long enough really. Theres usually a 4 or 5 year gap between new systems. That is about how long it took Nintendo to release the GC after the 64 iirc.

The Xbox 2 is planned, it won't be a pc in a black and green box though.

I should note that it is not size that makes the Xbox hardware powerful. In fact, all that space that it takes up is a waste. You can create a powerful gaming console without all the multipurpose clutter of a PC architecture.

To put it plain and simple, I would say yes, it's worth it. I have had hour after hour of enjoyment on an Xbox, on one game alone (that being Halo - and I typically hate FPS games, so that's quite an achievement for me). In the grand scheme of things it is all frivolity, you could spend the money better on a hundred other things. But that's not the point here, is it? ;)

That's my pb too, I wanted to play console RPG, and, well, there's none on the Xbox. Well, there WAS none :p Sudeki should be released this month, and Fable ( you gotta see this one, concept-wise and visual-wise, it's something else ) should be due soon enough now :)

You can't really accurately judge a console on a certain set of games. If there's a distinct lack of a certain genre on a certain console, that could certainly be an important factor.

Have all consoles. Love my Xbox. Worth it if you like the game it has available.

[color=66ff00]I say go get the console with the games that most strike your interest. Sure Xbox can move more polys but that's a non issue as far as I'm concerned. If moving polys for the sake of moving polys was fun then it wouldn't be gaming. *shrugs*

If I were going to buy a console I'd get a GC, it has more of the games that I like, at a higher quality than any of the other two consoles.

But I've put my gaming life on hold until HalfLife2 is released in april (supposedly) until then the only thing I'm doing is saving cash for a monster GFX card. :)

XBox is great.  I've played/seen other games on consoles/PC that look far better on XBox.  Splinter Cell in particular.

This is the thing with consoles. Cost.
MY current computer cant run KotOR.
Well, it could, but not well.
Anyway. Cost me at least 1000 to upgrade my PC (RAM, video, cpu), or 350 for an X-Box + KotOR. And it can run many other games I love. MechAssault, Halo, Crimson Skies 2, NHL 2004, Metal Gear Solid 2, Project Gotham 2, plus more I cant afford right now.
