i recieve BBC 1 and 2, but i don;t watch them all to often.
one rather poor TV station runs quite some British comedy's though, Are you being served?, which is very nice, the thing with the French resistant and the German occupieng force, something i find rather boring, and the one with the British military theatre going to India/Indonesia, with the warmonging sargeant.

Allo Allo was good in parts, never really like It Ain't Half Hot Mum, though.

You're missing a treat with Porridge, though.
And as for UK Gold, I'd have to actually go downstairs to watch it.

Yah, this was another classic Red Dwarf moment.

Another one of my fave episodes was the one with the alternate Universe Rimmer, a handsome, dashing test pilot who is the complete antithesis of the original Rimmer.

Alternate Rimmer: Smoke me a kipper, skipper, I'll be back for breakfast!

Rimmer's 'death' was pretty cool too. With all those trillions of Ace Rimmer holo-emitters floating around that planet.

Yeah, I liked that. Indeed some of it could be quite emotional - and Gunmen Of The Apocalypse was incredibly well written.

Speaking of comedy, ever seen The Britas Empire? It starred Chris Barrie (Arnold Rimmer) - it was pretty good, not Red Dwarf - but nice all the same.

Or of course, the emotion-sucking monster that stole Rimmers violent side, and he turned into a bearded pipe-smoking hippy.....

Rimmer : I've created the Campaign for the Liberation and Intergration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society..... The down side is that the Acronym spells 'Clitoris' but I'll work on it.

Lister : Let's get out there and twat it!

LISTER: I'm just sayin', there's 79 more days to go.
KRYTEN: And if you still want to be alive when there is only 78 more days  to go, I suggest you do not blow your nose.
LISTER: Do you mind if I ask why?
KRYTEN: Well, let's forego the noise and the revolting burbling sound, and go straight to the really gross part, when you always, and I mean always, having blown your nose have to open up your handkerchief and  take a look at the contents.  I mean, why?  What do you expect to see in there?  A Turner seascape, perhaps?  The face of the Madonna?  An undiscovered Shakespearian sonnet?

RIMMER: Do you have a magic carpet?
LISTER: Yeah, a little three-seater.
RIMMER: So, let me get this straight.  You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you are completely sane?!

t'Was the one in the leisure centre, wasn't it?

Yup:

I loved Rimmer's habit of calling people 'matey' when talking down to them

Ace's light-bee graveyard was also deeply cool, certainly the best thing in that series. Is it me, or did it go distinctly downhill after series six? Inflating the budget and swapping the superb models built from the contents of Shepperton Studio's skips for CGI was not a good idea, I reckons

after series6 one half of the Grant/Naylor combo left and was replaced by some guy who's name I forget.

That a) I didn't know and b) explains a huge number of things. But Grant Naylor claimed to be a gestalt entity composed of Rob Grant and Doug Naylor... how could one half leave, unless they were telling porkies?

The one they've been 'working' on for about ten years? Don't know, don't care, as the eightball predicts a lack of funny

Last I heard, they were waiting for Barry to finish with Tomb Raider 2 before they began shooting.

And the thing about the later episodes was that they had a plot. And the whole prison-transport thing just plain sucked.

The whole point of Red Dwarf was that you'd start out with them sitting around the table on StarBug, whining about how the Urine-Recyc Wine tasted worse than Dutch Lager and by the end of the episode they'd have travelled through time, destroyed the universe and wound up dying when an evil puppet came to life and destroyed the ship.

There's a ****load of episodes where they never had an end, they just kinda stopped abruptly. Like RimmerWorld. That whole episode was just down-right wierd. Same with that Psi-Moon episode.
