ATTN: Looking for multiplayer test victims
Here's something that would be a good feature, a system so that you can select a game so that you'd join it as soon as it's possible and cue you with a tone (even if FS2_open is the background).

Or a way to flag games so that a tone sounds whenever it's ready to accept more players.



BTW my standalone server is up so someone try it to see if it works.

chrono i cannot connect to your standalone - hence it's not showing up properly normally

Perhaps it's because Redmenaces's connection to you is fubared?  Try playing on someone else's server (or check if the standalone works and try mine).


Kazan.  So it's not showing up properly?  Strange, is there anything I need to do to make it work?  I just started it up using -standalone.


Hmmm, I saw Redmenace on my server for a moment before he disconnected.

Ok I've shut down the standalone until something is worked out, I'll just make a normal server and play too =)

Strange, does standalone use port 7808 as well?


Normal server up, join this one LS and see if you have the same problems.

i have the standalone build. its what i was using the whole time.

and finally...i still dont experience what LS is experiencing. :confused:

I'm getting "unknown errors" when connecting to the master server now. I'll try.

I can now confirm this doesnt happen with single player. I used the same build with single player and didnt get the issues.

-edit: could connect, but still no luck.

it connects fine now, but I still get the crashes. The connection seems okay (forums+streaming+lots more working flawlessly) :confused:

Might it have to do with the pilot name or something?

Hmm, Kazan, are you sure FS2netd doesn't require UDP ports?  Because the only change from yesterday I've made was that I've disabled UDP forwarding (while keeping tcp).

I've re-enabled UDP as well and started the standalone server again.  Someone needs to go try it though.

maybe FSO is sending commands that your network setup hates --- check teh hardware?

SWEET! The Chrono's standalone is working!! I made YET another change to how FS2NetD inserts the servers into fs2 and it fixed a lot of stuff

the standalone server i hosted on disappeared, now i'm hosting a standard game.

what would be more usefull, hosting a standalone or a real game?

hmm...it crashes while it tries to validate the tables for this thing - which is strange since ive renamed all the table folders and put back the root vp o_O
