Even with their finances in the gutter, I doubt they're going to be selling it off for cheap, if at all. Even it it was a small amount, say 10,000, it would still be next to impossible for the community to purchase. Not to get anyone's hopes down or anything, but even with the rights, a game costs many millions to finance. And THQ is even more of a "quick, bad console crap" company than Interplay has become...
but there is hope. every gamer out there would support FS3, and I know of no one who has not given it very high praise. So the demand is quite clearly there. And besides, Volition's relathionship with THQ isn't set in stone, there are many gamer-friendly publshers out there (Activision UBIsoft etc) that could pick up the license and at the same time get V to develop a new game.
