Nobody is working on Hyperion at the moment. I believe textures might get a overhaul in the near future, maybe. It's got glowpoints now though, as does Midwinter.

For the day look the disable glowpoint bank sexp can be used to turn off some of the lights.

What's the ambient factor for that screenshot?  Is that one of Bob's old Shadow builds?

No it's not a shadow build. It's vanilla 3.6. Ambiet was set at 60. The shadow is just careful sun placement.

It might come out of the main docking bay spinning but the cobra bays don't work. Engine limitation (no fighterbays on rotating sections).

It might be - it has a few non jpg artefacts hat the game engine produces at ranges like this, but renders should have ways around. The blurred, somewhat dodgy looking stars also look FSish. But the explosion and the lens flare sort of thing going on behind the ship don't look quite right... tough to call, though I'm leaning towards it actually being a proper screenie.

Eh so it seems like we're all losing our sense of what's a screen shot and what's a render.

Looked a lot like a rainbow ice cream mix to me though... The colors are wierd.   And it's pretty freaky that something can to do something that nasty to a whiskered Omega.
