Anyway, for the contination of the story, age doesn't really matter. Seven Eight and Nine would be about Luke/Leia's children, thus ending the "son/daughter-father/mother-grandfather/grandmother" typesetting of the story.

Don't worry dude, this is not an uncommon opinion. I mean, I don't share it and hate the new episodes with vehemence (Damn you GL for trampling on my childhood!), but kids that were my age when I saw the original SW love the current ones as much as I did the originals.

I broke down and wept when they told me that.

But it just goes to show that... erm... something.

In order to make 7+ he'd have to fork from a lot of established universe from Kathy Tyers, Timothy Zahn etc., and frankly I'd not trust him to do so.
Right now, I have about as much trust with George Lucas with Star Wars as I do with Derek Smart making Freespace 3 (No offence dude )

There was a point here but I appear to have lost it...

How about getting JMS to make a Freespace film?

I enjoyed them too. In the same way as I enjoyed Alien 3. I just refused to believe it was anything to do with the previous films but was instead set in it's own universe and instantly an interesting film about a prophecy and a weird universal force appeared out of nowhere

TPM isn't a crap movie. It's just a crap Star Wars movie. Taken on it's own merits it's not that bad.
