Maybe you've noticed I haven't posted lately. For reasons that are my own business, I won't be around anymore, but since I'm online right now, I take the oportunity to say goodbye to the community. For the most part, it's been a whole lot of fun, but now it's over. I may drop by from times to times, but that's it. I wish HLP a bright future and, on that note: so long, folks.

I already announced my retirement twice, yet here I am. If I bring up that topic again, don't believe a word.

Having just played Fs2 with the latest Taylor Build AND Lightspeed's 27 August LT wonder, it really felt like a new game.

But we all know it isn't. We all know that had it not been for those that did hang on during the hard years, when it all seemed lost and it was thought that this game will be gone forever and be supplanted by something else.

In those times, one of the happy few that stayed the course was NICO. Through his  mod and perseverance, by his example, AND HIS MODS TOO, he kept the flame alive, so that now Freespace 2 SCP is getting the new lease of life it has deserved for SO LONG.

When I joined SCP had 800 members with 2-3 participants. Freespace was thought to be dieing. Now it has 2200+ with 30+ at any one time. I call this success.

ANd it is owed to people like Nico who did held the line. That's why it is sad to see him go. I wish Nico all the success in everything he finds precious and valuable.

Nico, don't be a stranger man. We 'll still be here for a long time.
