It was in the beggining. 2001. I went on the VBB quite often, talking about doing a mod for Space: Above and Beyond as well as a Freespace movie. And by then the place had been infested with trolls. Then I don't remember who it was, I think Setekh or Thunder liked my idea for Space: Above and beyond and would like to host it on HLP. Then I visited HLP, forgot about my mod and stayed. I posted something about a freespace movie, and people were so friendly and positive that it impressed me. I felt at home. To be honest, this is the only forum I "regularly" post on.
I have returned... Again...

Heh, I found this place via Inferno's Forums. One day, I just decided to search up some mods 'n **** on the internet. Clicked a few links, a BAM, I'm here.

Don't let my register date fool you. I've been lurking the HLP forums since WELL before HLP 2.0.

Year of the n00b for me. It still seems like it's been so long since 6-29. And yet it's only been about half a year. Time doesn't fly at these forums! Or is it just me? :nervous:

After finishing FS1 again, decided to look around for the sequel. Eventually found it on HOTU but before that, I looked around here for a bit. I remember being enchanted by the telling of the Freespace games in in-game shots, though I didn't fully understand due to not having played FS2.

But I did, and I finished it, and I came back, and here I am.

I was running a Google for goat porn and then....

The Babylon 5 Project lead me here eventually. I've always hated FS for not having glowy windows like in XWA. When I saw the GLOWIES and the SHINIES, I got sucked into this modding frenzy.

i'm here basically because steak told me to come here when we were at school, in hlp's first year of existence.

hlp must be really special. i don't even game and i'm still addicted. i must be the only regular on these forums who has never actually _played_ fs1 or 2.

Beginning of 2004, aka, the Year of the n00b. :D

And I am still the pimple on the HLP's ass that I was a year ago! :D

I came here when it was first announced on the VWBB.

Hell, I sent Sandwich here. :p  It's all my fault! He didn't even want to join up! I convinced him to!

March 2001, roughly a week or so after I joined the VBB.  I submitted a news post about a mission I released to Ross 128. The news submissions for that site were sent to Thunder/Kalfireth, who then posted my news at HLP instead, and I've been here ever since.

I was also one of the first hosted projects, even though not much was ever actually produced.

Found out HLP when I was using google in search for a way to run resolutions higher than the standard 1024x768 and was searching for  planet models. :)

Heard about this place when they first announced it on the VBB 2001... and registered. Moved here when VBB closed.
Habeeb it...

HLP is pretty special. But the rest isn't true. You did play FreeSpace - you didn't get past the training missions, though. ;)

I was pestering Thunder and Steak about it almost before they started with the "***" stuff on the VBB.

I found HLP after PXO closed... I was searching Descent 4-related stuff and finally I decided to find a way to play online again. I heard there was the SCP and that the DarkWing (DW over FS2) played over the internet. So I searched for the DW site, went to their forum, and they talked about HLP. Then I discovered it. I still don't play online because I don't have the full version of FS2. Just a demo-like version that runned multiplyer. *sob*... so I sticked at the art section.

Um... You know that with the SCP and with the correct VPs from Fractux's server, you can have, in essence, the full version. Don't you?

And yeah, Setekh. I feel so bad for what I have unleashed upon you poor unsuspecting forumites.

I have no precise recollection on how I found HLP.

Probably Teno' (veterans will know who I'm talking about) directed me here.

Nope.. I didn't know. And I don't know how to do what you said there. But if you explain, I would REALLY appreciate it. Is it like replacing Red Faction VPs?
