I'm worried by the possibility of England playing Portugal. My mum's already said that she couldn't bear to watch the match since she'd have no idea who to support.

Even though I'm an England supporter I'd hate to have to knock Portugal out to progress.

After tonight's results we Greeks have no misconceptions about who we are and what it is we are thougth to be. The worst of the 8. Everyone's favorite whooping boy. French will probably walk all over us.

But we fight. We have and we will. We haven't reached thus far by kissin' @$$3$...

Tonight there is a celebration the likes of which will probably be remembered for years. We love football, and it is nice to know that every once and a while, we get something out of it too.

In a few days we play 11 on 11 with whoever we are set against (Either England or France), with NOTHING to lose (everyone thinks we are gonners already, so no disappointment there), but with EVERYTHING TO WIN.

I'm not knocking Greece at all. They kicked Portugals arse and drew with Spain. Sure Russian beat them but by then they pretty much knew they were going through anyway so I doubt they particularly cared.

By the time you get to the quarter finals there are bad teams really. Any team that makes it can definately surprise you. I'm not assuming that Croatia are a forgon conclusion either. If France draw they could actually win the group by beating England. They aren't the push over many have been claiming either. They nearly spanked the French (Who got lucky AGAIN and managed to wrench a draw from a game they should have lost).

The reason I'd rather play Greece is simply cause many of my family live in Portugal

I just like to see the fact as they are. I believe Greece has 1%-5% chance of making it through to the semi-finals, but that is exponentially more than the 0% that I thought possible.

Yesterday there were celebrations in Athens the likes of which I couldn't believe! 10.000 raving bluwhite maniacs in Omonoia sq. (Athen's most central square). IT WAS WILD.
