You cannot be using v1.6.67 then.

CP,

run D2X-XL -printlog. That should create d2x.log in the folder where d2x-xl.exe is stored.

So far I have two bugs:

- Object duplication
- Not connecting to a game in progress (if the server has changed). I quit from our game and tried to rejoin, and I always got the wrong response to the request made to the current server.

It says 1.6.67, my guess is I'm confused about somthing, but I have a fair understanding of D2-XL so it isn't a huge issue with me.

So why was there a Pheonix cannon?

That's interesting, because I haven't been able to do that F1 menu thing as well, and it is 1.6.67. :confused:

Oh well, at least we have working multiplayer now.  I joined in the dogfight earlier and saw Mars and one other person.  

The only question I have left is this:  If I were to start a game with the tracker, what information do I need to give to the people who join?  (The port number isn't 28342 or whatever like it was in the earlier versions).  Do I just use this new number (67902976), or something else?

the port number in brackets is totally off. 28342 is the proper one. You probably need to create a new player file.

I wouldn't exactly call object duplication working multiplayer. :doubt:

Mars,

there is a Phoenix cannon in that level, but only 1 fusion and 1 eshaker (we had three shakers after a while).

Don't ask me. I had this too, and after I turning it on in single player, it suddenly worked.

I would like to debug some more to track the duplication bug down. I will open a server shortly.

Please update to v1.6.68 before joining.

you know what you guys could use a chat channel (something like AIM chanel D2 or something like that) rather than use forms. that way you know who is accually alive and not drive this thread through the roof.

I think I have been able to locate and fix the bug causing your problems. There was a bug in the UDP networking code that could lead to all kinds of problems. See the version log on my web site.

I'm going to try setting up a tracker in 1.6.69, if I can anyone can, same old port 28342, tell me if anyone can see it.

I checked around 30 minutes after your post but didn't see your game.

The last thing in the log is "building texturing shader programs" after the crash. What is it supposed to do after that?

I brought up the idea of using an IM program earlier too. I haven't used my old ICQ and MSN accounts in years, but it might be time to fire up Trillian again.

I blame your machine/drivers on your problems with D2X-XL. The shaders are loaded to your gfx card.

The thing is, it's stopping at the same point on all four of my computers, which have somewhat different hardware and driver configurations.

I'm going to make a debug build from the source posted on your site and see if anything comes up with that.
