Re: semi-sub-offitial hlp super happy descent 2 multiplayer action!
1800 (6:00), right now you're UTC-4

That's 1600 (4:00) my time (UTC-6)

I'm actually busy at 10:00 GMT, but not UTC, I hate time zones, can we make that 11:00 GMT / UTC

Are we working under the assumtion GMT = UTC, I'll assume so.

So we can reschedual to actually 7:00 EST (11:00 UTC), is that a good time for you darklord?

Sorry about all my confusion over time zones GMT can be considered to be offset from UTC during the Daylight savings time, or not, so I get confused

No, see, at this rate we'll be having another 1v1 match, which, while not a bad thing, isn't quite what we were going for.

And just cause I've gone up by 200 posts in the past week doesn't mean I'm a post whore  :hopping: (yes it does)  :D

Re: semi-sub-offitial hlp super happy descent 2 multiplayer action!
Well I still haven't been able to figure out why it keeps crashing for me. I have tried just about everything at this point, including the D2 install Ulala posted a few pages back. The only thing left to try is to make a debug build and try to track down the error in the code, but I haven't gotten it to compile properly yet (I can make a release build with no problems, but the debug one gives some linker errors).

My laptop actually gives a specific error, "integer divide by zero," unlike the other computers that just give the generic program error.

I may be able to host, but I'll need to get this sorted out first.

Bummer. Alright, I'm willing to give it a try. I'll put up a server, hopefully someone will make it in. I have to step out for a better part of the mid-day, but I'll leave it up just to see. I'll post the info. in a few.

Re: semi-sub-offitial hlp super happy descent 2 multiplayer action!
Hey guys, I'm going to have to ask for a small favor...

I'm having an issue with reinstalling D2 onto my computer, so I can't get all the files needed to run the latest version of D2X-XL.  I have no idea what I did wrong with it, but whatever happened, now it won't allow me to completely uninstall it and I can't reinstall it either.

So could somebody please email me the files of their D2 folder to me so that I can get the latest version running?  I'd really appreciate it.  (Email address is [email protected])

D2 is too large to effectively e-mail, what specific file do you need?

Re: semi-sub-offitial hlp super happy descent 2 multiplayer action!
Installing D2 from the original CD is a bit of a pain since the installer doesn't really work with XP, but you can extract everything out of the descent2.sow file manually using Winrar. Or just try the link Ulala posted a few pages ago, which should contain everything.

Re: semi-sub-offitial hlp super happy descent 2 multiplayer action!
Hmm, I tried using the one from Ulala's post, but the game crashes as soon as a door begins opening.  This was the problem I initially ran into when using the later versions of D2X-XL, which I fixed by installing D2 from the CD, and then extracting the D2X-XL files to that directory.
Now that I can't reinstall D2, I'm stuck with that bug again.

I'm going to try extracting everything from the .sow file now.  Hopefully that will work.
