The GOP-dominated Legislature rejected other ballot measures to criminalize the presence of illegal immigrants in Arizona, set state punishments for businesses that hire illegal foreign labor and stop communities from prohibiting police enforcement of federal immigration law.
It seems to me that most politicians don't actually want to do anything about the immigration issue. I mean, they all seem to want to make life as hard as possible for illegals, while at the same time prefer not to do anything to actually
combat the issue other than "let's build a big wall!". Making the hiring of illegal immigrants illegal would do volumes to combat the problem, and yet policy-makers just choose to turn the other way? What the hell, man?!
