Hard Light Productions celebrates the first anniversary/birthday of its official opening on the seventh! With the community, we've amassed almost 300,000 hits, and we passed 60,000 posts in the Forums just last week.

What I want to ask all you forumites is - what has HLP been to you this past year? I know that when Thunder and I first had the idea of this place, we were definitely thinking small. The monstrosity wonder of a community that is now Hard Light was simple beyond my imagination - and now that I'm here, I wonder how I ever got along without you guys.  

So, what about you then? Have you gotten sucked into the Hard Light community too? Made new friends? Honed your skills? Gained entirely new ones you never knew you had?

Well, since we lack anything better, this lame attempt will have to do Setekh. I didn't know that you were one of the founders though. I guess that makes you Sheik Steak.    

Seriously, I've only been around since... um... whatever that little date thingy over there to the left says, but in that time I'd have to say I've learned stuff and I've met interesting people. The focus on space combat sims and 3d work sits well with me. As far as online communities go, it feels like coming home.

As for feeling old: imagine realizing you've past your tenth year in an online community. Imagine that your existence there predates your relationship with your wife. Now THAT is old, Young'un.

I am here since HLP/Forums opend from Jan 2001 i feel a old.

Hmmm..i made here a good amount online friends, learnded here more then i ever would learn on the VBB. I tryed to leave because of R/L but i just couldn't stop posting ( HLP is the place where magic flows )
I got all the HLP staff members in my ICQ list. I got insane and created the Freak of Justice. etc etc
in one word this is the best place to be if you are interested in art/freespace 1/2
