Speaking of that color...
 :D

i personally thing the first one it better, i spent a bit of time making sure the orange (outline) and the gray (main body of T) wer the same as the Tiigran ships. The second one is just meh...

  • A one hit wonder, you still want to touch this.

This is a pretty cool shivan ship. The head of the ship is awesome. The ass end is so so. Mostly, the texturing on the head of the ship is pretty good. But, the ass end texturing is just horrid. Better use of texturing on the ass end, more diversity on the ass end and it'll look better. It's not a ship with the highest poly count, but it does look good. The ass end textures kill it for me though
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

I think the Lamia's original textures looked a little better, actually.

So could you find a link to the original Lamia?

Cool. Any plans to make these higher-poly/better textured? Or is the plain look characteristic of the species?

I'm aware of the fact that the following suggestion might be a bit exaggerated, but...

What about a proper naming convention? Could you pick up a civilization or a series of books and choose names? The names you're currently using aren't ok IMO.

How is using ancient cavalry for fighters/bombers and forts for capships not ok?  :wtf:

That's not a real/fantastic civilization...

IMO you could also use invented names(Kilrathi style).

Why isn't it OK? The FS2 names aren't civilizations, they're from mythology.

Well, if they're terran designations, its fine. but if they're what they name their own ships, I'd find it slightly weird.

Please ignore Mobius and call them whatever the heck you want. So long as they're translated names or Terran designations it seems fine to me.

Well how weird is an alien destroyer class named after an ancient Egiptian queen? [cough] Hatshepsut [/cough]  :p

And what mythology does the GTSG Watchdog's name come from? :p

We'll stick to our naming method: anything that fits in a hangar named after cavalry, anything too big after castles, primary weapons after swords and other blade weapons, and secondaries named after historical firearms (missiles after pistols and rifles, bombs after cannons). It's simply more fun to read about katanas and ribauldequins than about Ancient Greek minor gods, when looking for names. :p
