Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
I'll fix up the cockpit glass.  The rapier style wouldn't be bad either, just didn't think of it at the time.

Edit: I found an lighting bug/issue with max.  Look at the raised cockpit area.  The front half looks light it's shaded darker than the back half, yet it isn't.  It's something to do with the rear omni lights.

Can you supply both versions when you will be releasing the pack?
I can't decide which one I like better.

Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
how about releasing both versions, the new version as an older model with the bubbled canopy version as a newer version with slight performance/weapon characteristics

Does that cockpit...you know, work? Is it something like the one Nuke posted on the Tube?

Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
Excellent, but I'd like to see it in-game.
Is that built-in cockpit, or the external one?

Hmm... now THAT's a nice demon, so to speak :D .

I do prefer the bubble cockpit, though, as it makes it look more technically advanced - or at least I do have that impression.

Btw., any comments on my view of Nephilim design lines?
I remembered that also the Leviathan, Kraken and Barracuda do look much like fish...
Though the Hydra - being my most favoured Nephilim capship design - is something I can't really see to give the impression of a fish...

Maybe Tiamat & Hydra borrow a bit from Octopi, design-wise?

As soon as they fix external cockpit it should work.

This is the external cockpits, I've quit working on the built-in ones as they a.) look ugly b.) in order them to make them look good, then the entire model would have too many polys.

Once I get done with all of these models, I'll start playing around with the bug ships.

Ugh I'm having a horrible time tonight finding the right words...

Anywhoo.... next up: Dragon

Really? Can't wait to see your take on that :) .

Actually, Hydra + Dragon are my most preferred ship designs from WC. Add the Executor for SW and propably the Alves for FS, and you're mostly set with me :D .
Not to say there weren't other very nice ship designs... but those are the top 4 on my list, so to say.

Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
But first...

as for the Dragon, the mesh itself was in good shape. Just replaced the guns, thrusters and intakes and apply a newer texture over it (like the previous fighters, just blacker) and some cleaning up.

Wow, I wonder what the original Excalibur or Raptor would look like.

Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
The Excalibure looks like this (see attachment) in the original highres version. The Raptor..well that is a good question.
I would say like in the second attachment? To bad I never managed to get this one done.

Re: Model Release Redux (Picture heavy)
IIRC the Excal in that image is the original model that was created by Origin/EA for WC4.
