Re: W-H-I-Y-L - Asante Sana Squash Banana.
I think the backlash over terrible "pranks" that were just... lies... over the last couple years may have finally calmed the internet down.  Except people got pretty mad over google's mic drop thing, unless those stories were themselves the prank.  I didn't really look into that.

The only one I actually saw myself was one going around the gun communities claiming the Army selected 3 different .40 pistols as finalists for its newest contract.  It got a LOT of people, which is kindof funny if you're in to such things. (There is no way in hell .40 will ever be the standard caliber for any branch of the US military.  Or probably any other.)

WHat's wrong with .40?

It's neither a standard NATO shell nor is it a red-blooded, god-fearing American Colt .45.

Personally I think .40 would be a decent mid-point compromise between the two shells but that's because my P226 fits perfectly in my hand and I like it a lot.

There's nothing drastically wrong with it, what I meant was there's nothing GOOD enough about it to overcome the massive government lethargy for changing from 9mm.

But since we're on the subject, I personally hate it.  Drastic increase in recoil from 9mm with comparatively little increase in power.  Worse character of recoil than .45 with less power.  IMO the worst of both worlds.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L - Asante Sana Squash Banana.
Felt recoil is as much a characteristic of the weapon as it is of the ammunition; .223 Remmington fired out of an AR-pattern rifle has significantly lower felt recoil than the same round fired out of a Mini 14 ranch rifle.  I personally despise the .45 because it's so much heavier in what should be a backup weapon first and foremost.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L - Asante Sana Squash Banana.
Truth; I have owned both.  I was surprised at the amount of recoil from the Mini-14 - it was comparable to my Winchester 30-30.  With pistols, my little Bersa 383A .380 had about the same felt recoil as my 9mm Ruger P95.  The single-stack Bersa had a much thinner grip than the massively wide Ruger, which concentrated the felt recoil into a smaller area; the 9mm has a heavier slide to move back; and the Ruger has a polymer frame as opposed to steel.

I've never had the opportunity to shoot a .40, and the one time I had a chance to shoot a .45 I was 11 and too scared of it.
Maybe someday God will give you a little pink toaster of your own.

Getting back to April Fools', I did enjoy YouTube's Snoopavision.  It's especially fun if you're using a mobile device and can get the full 360-degree Snoop experience.  :pimp:

A friend told me, since this was the last day it was playing in the good theater here, to take some time off at lunch and go watch Eye in the Sky.

He was right.

You should all do so as well.

I dunno, I think it will just remind me the world is without Alan Rickman :(

Maybe. While regrettable, I think it really made me mourn the lack Helen Mirren in modern movies, though.

Coming home from work after 12 hours to find you left the sink running (and that moment of panic when you think the pipes have exploded).

Wait until you get the bill and realize you have to pay for 6000-7000 gallons you didn't even get to use. At least on broken pipes you can say it did it by itself. :P

So I was amazingly precise in my writing! That's unusual. Seen six episodes, and it does get my attention.

I think that's a tad overestimate of how much water a single (throttled down) faucet uses in half a day.

Yeah I was thinking wide open older faucet. I guess I read in your post that you had enough flow out of the faucet to reduce pressure enough to think your pipes were busted.

The busted pipes panic was just from me hearing flow noise upon opening the front door.

Having seen 10 episodes from the 13 of Daredevil's first season, I think I can make it official: Daredevil is by far the best superhero series I've ever seen, full ****ing period.

It's like The Wire meets Dark Knight. ****ing brilliance in everything. I'm in love.

I'm getting ready to start S2E7, and it continues to be excellent.  Fisk is still my favorite, but the Punisher is also fantastic.
