:wtf: Okaaaaaay.   Anyway, I just got an 8 gig jump drive.  It'll take a while to fill that up.
Only if you're good at not accumulating junk or something. :p

You never know when you'll need Linux i386 or AMD64! Always carry it with you!

I'm messing around with Windows 7 right now. I have it running as a Virtual Machine replica of my EeePC, so that I can get a feel for how it'll install. So far it's going well, I think. I want to slim the entire OS to fit in 3GB, though.

Re: Whatever happens in your life
Do you think Windows 7 will be a worthy successor to Vista from your observations so far? ;7

I mean, if you upgraded would it be all right, or would it suck like going from XP to Vista? (Well, that's how it felt for me, but only because I took a performance hit.)

That's how I feel as well for the same reason, bloody hell, it took the Xbox 360 and the NXE (New Xbox Experience) for me to put confidence in Microsoft again

Re: Whatever happens in your life
Vista SP1 fixed a lot of the problems for me (mainly sluggish performance on applications I knew and used under XP)

Still can't figure out MIDL

oh, and I spend far too much time here

Re: Whatever happens in your life
The feel of the OS is different overall. I can't say I like it, but there are some parts that I can get used to and some parts that will drive me up the wall. I want to slim it down enough to get it working everywhere. As I said, the VM is a replica of my EeePC's SSDs and RAM, so it should be an accurate representation of which vLite'd installations will work and which ones won't.

Anyways--this goes for any OS. If you're worried about losing a noticeable amount of performance, the upgrade is not for you. Supposedly, Windows 7 is faster than XP or Vista. I can't confirm that.

Re: Whatever happens in your life
A drawback has been discovered; because of the sheer size of my 1Tb hard drive, I can no longer run to my room to watch near-hentai anime. I have to transfer to my 250gb baby and run to my room.

So as long as my 'stock' isn't on a 1TB I should be safe?

Got NFS:SE running on DosBox. But tomorrow (or sometime this week) I might go on my good old desktop (!) to play it - I can use the Warrior car then! :)

I knoe that, So you're saying a 1 TB HDD screws around with Windows 7? So if I have anything important on it and I upgrade (assuming it hasn't been bugfixed, which is highly unlikely), I won't be able to use it on 7?

Re: Whatever happens in your life
Actually what I meant was that I had a few anime that are not hentai but are damn close, and so I generally bring my laptop to my room to watch those. But I transferred all, including those near-hentai ones to my 1TB HDD. which I can't lug around the house like my portable.
