I just got back from a debate tournament. My colleague and I went 3-2, 21 speaks. (for those of you not in debate, a "speak" is a speaker point. Points are determined according to a speaker's rank in round. The best gets a "1," next a "2", etc. Two people to a team, winning team must have five or below, losers must have five of above. The smallest amount of speaks one can recieve in a round is three, most is seven). 21 speaks means that we had three perfect rounds, one split (a five, also a loss), and a perfect loss (a 7).
The 8th place team was 4-1, 22 speaks

. Meaning that we spoke better, but the judge didn't like us that much. We had a creepy fat guy judging us in a round where my colleague and I debated two hot debate chicks. Guess who won that one.
