I was immensely entertained by the titanic clash of two American Goldfinches as they battled over the rights to the tree in front of the office.

*snip*
I literally see this happening every other day at my school with sparrows and other birds. Even though there's lots of space for everyone they still fight over prime perching spots...

Sooner or later I'm gonna be able to curse in bird.

I'd call you a lucky bastard, but it sounds like you weren't lucky today. :(
Yeah. :(  The new launch date is NET May 2nd, but it may be pushed back even further.  Argh...

Twitter was a fun experiment.  I had registered an account before but hadn't really done anything with it.  But today I was able to get the whole thing set up and then start tweeting all from my cell phone, which I thought was pretty cool. :)

Oh, and congrats to the Brits/Commonwealthers over the big wedding.  My mom was up at 5AM to watch.
Mine was too, and she told me to keep an eye on the TVs in the Visitor Center to catch coverage of the wedding.  I told her that, being a NASA facility, all the TVs were covering the launch. :p

Heh, yeah, I don't know how much of a crossover audience they had there. :p

Our local newspaper has a big used book/CD/DVD/VHS/whatever sale going on this week to support their local education initiatives, so my mom and I stopped by to check it out.  We'll head back tomorrow too, since they have an absurd amount of stuff, and it's $10 for everything you can stuff in a bag.  Mixed in with the CDs were some old computer games, mostly a lot of the classic Freddi Fish/Pajama Sam sort of educational stuff.  I did get my hands on copies of the original Call of Duty, Mechwarrior 4, MS Combat Flight Simulator Europe, and an old game called Glover that I'd once played on the N64. I didn't even get much into the books, so it'll be fun to see what I can dig up tomorrow.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L I pity the fools that diss it.
I babysat my kid cousins tonight, they're pretty funny so it was good times.  We played some Wii, specifically Mario Cart and Sports Resort while they simultaneously used me as a set organic monkey bars.   After I sent them to bed I took the opportunity to read the Mass RMV Motorcycle Manual.  I'm considering applying for a permit and signing up for classes at a riding school in Beverley.  I've a quick easy commute to work which would be a nice ride, especially around the lake.   My Tundra eats winter conditions and is generally a blast but its a bit of a big bruiser in summer and with rising gas prices 40 something miles to the gallon sounds pretty good.  I've the funds to buy one outright but I think I will instead take out a small loan and use it to build up my credit score.  Right now I'm initially looking at a couple bikes, specifically the Honda Shadow Phantom, Ducati GT1000 or Ducati Monster.  I'll need to go visit a dealership to get a feel for the size of the bikes, my major concern is that it needs to fit my tall frame and not be like a clown on a minibike.

My sib loves to do that. It's cool-looking for a few seconds, but that much fire coming out of something that small...
