new computer with windows 7 up an running.  i miss the XP interface already.  i'm REALLY not going to enjoy the process of re-customizing and getting used to this.  most of it looks like ass to me (stop making everything so goddamn white and washed out with no obvious way to change it).

I struggle to adapt to new interfaces despite the fact that there are obvious improvements, and that they are, in fact, simpler to  use than older ones.

there are functionality improvements, yes.  'simpler' herein having the meaning dumbed down for the average idiot to the point where people who were capable of setting up the interface how they like it have to wade through endless links and **** like libraries to get where they want now.  explain to me how no longer being able to open up My Computer and go straight to my documents folder is an improvement.  or why i can't open a second broswer window with the quick launch button.

i'm all for adding all these little extras and fancy do-dads.  but it makes no sense to not at least leave the option to leave it basic and "hard."


and for the love of god, someone tell me how to get the start menu out of that tiny ****ing box in the corner and span the screen again.  i am NOT scrolling through that once i get all my programs installed.

...I'm pretty sure that by default Documents is shown in the favourites section at the left of the screen. From my virtual machine that is almost unchanged from default:

Not by simply clicking it, which I suspect is your gripe. But right-clicking and selecting the program name in the menu will do it (at least for Internet Explorer and Firefox).

There's no built in way to do this, but you can use a third party utilily. Or use the search bar at the bottom, I find that quite useful. *runs*

It just can't animate

You can animate with it, just as long it is something simple. I created an animation involvin a sphere going through a mass of pillars, although that was on the older version called Bryce 5.

Nope. It was caught in my dad's have-a-heart trap in the orchard. At first I thought it was dead, but then I walked over to it and it turned to face me. We carried it down to the creek and the corner of the cage in, so it could drink. We'll probably let it go somewhere sometime tonight.

Apparently it's a pretty dumb possum, 'cuz there wasn't even any bait in the trap.

Is that only 10GB of hard drive space total? Or am I missing something entirely
