i played an old game i havent played for over 15 years. the all the ships thread kinda reminded me of an old ship and it took me 2 hours to remember what game it was from. turns out it was from an old sega saturn game called solar eclipse. after finding a disc image and an emulator that ****ing worked, i managed to play through the whole game. its essentially a starfox clone where you hunt down an ai gone mad. it also had cutscenes with that chick that played ivonova on b5. brought back some memories. i tried to remember other games for the sega saturn that i miss, but had a hard time, since there were only a couple really good games on that system exclusively.

Atleast you are still breathing man. I know how scary it feels when you see it coming yet have nothing to do about it, although I survived relatively intact... So I can feel for you 'bout the first part I geuss. For what it is worth.

On a slightly related note: This weekend I shall visit my grandpa, who due to cancer is breathing trough a straw and can not speak. After surviving 5 chemo's and operations rendering unable to speak, he managed to shake off the cancer that was haunting him...

Or so they thought, as it now turns out it has metastized. The man is a walking medical miracle, as he should by rights be dead already, but it really sucks to first hear that he made it (he actually was happier then he was in years, he also quitted smoking (he withdrew due to being in hospital for so long, and he was smiling for the first time in years), and then hear that he has to go trough the entire circus again. He has taken it quite hard, or so I heard.

The problem for me is that I really don't know what to do with it... Either he will be a dying man or a suffering man, and I do not know how to make him find comfort in that...
