I remember seeing an episode of the Weather Channel's one "It Could Happen Tomorrow" show a few years ago about a major storm surge hitting NYC...guess they called it.

Hit my funnybone three hours ago

Instead of that normal, annoying tingling, it was full blown numbness and burning down the entire right side of my arm (very painful to boot)
It's still got that sensation

So I bend my arm and run my finger down the groove created near the elbow, only to find the nerve rather exposed

I can't do that for the other arm

The **** did I do to my right elbow

Bruised it, superficial swelling will subside. Just take an Ibuorifen and crack on with the day. Keep it mobile too.

Internet's back up! Power never went out (not counting a few split-second blinks)!

Level alarm still annoying me... maybe circuit breaker thingy was symptom instead of cause?

Wish I'd thought of it, really.  I just went to the pier to grab photos.  Would have taken a bunch at the jetty too, but my batteries died.

This is probably the best one I got.

That happened to me too, once. Was doing some remodeling work on the bathroom down the hall, and the bastard decided to see what all the hammering was about. He was a rattlesnake (at least 2 feet long) and didn't survive the night.

Woot! Caught the snake and threw it outside! It was either a black rat snake or a garter snake, and it was 2-3 feet long, 1cm at its widest (and that's when it's scrunched itself up).

Now to convince my cat it's safe to come back into the room...

I remember when my cat found a snake. He'd never seen one before and was curious about it.

His response was to repeatedly hit it in the face while it reared up and hissed at him. Fortunately it was just a garter snake, so I got him away from it without incident.
