Currently rather upset with Strike Suit Zero for having the fighter portions be basically everything that was good and intuitive and fun from FreeSpace/Freelancer, and then they **** up the transition to the strike suit with overlapping controls that don't do the same things across modes and a huge difficulty spike.

it's not like i'm certain i failed, but i'm also not comfortable in stating i passed. it was a REALLY crap exam. bunch of stuff i'd never seen before, or that was mentioned in passing as an "oh, by the way", unclear questions that we just had to guess at what they were after, and even a few that flat out didn't apply to our qual. at one point during it, our instructor wondered aloud if WE could reject the test and send it back.

very different from the first go round.

Always a temporary solution until I find something permanent. I only used IE10 as a replacement for 27 minutes, which is a lot shorter than the amount of time I spent using Safari while making the switch from Firefox to Chrome on my Mac.

the only reason i DON'T use IE is because there's no adblock for it. i've never encountered a website that didn't work on IE but did on something else. the reverse happens with some amount of regularity.

naw. the FE exam was a little bit annoying, but it was cake. this was an initial qualification exam for my job.

well, not like i knew everything on it kind of easy. but it wasn't hard to pass. you don't actually need all that high of a percentage to pass. there was stuff on there i just plain didn't know, because i'm not an electrical/chemical/whatever engineer, but the stuff on it that WAS in my curriculum wasn't really hard. and it was all multiple choice, had plenty of time, you were allowed reference materials, and most of all a proper damn lunch break. i left the FE a bit tired and with a sore neck, but it wasn't NEARLY as stressful and my brain wasn't melted. i need to go back to NCSU and tell Dr. Doster he needs to up his game, because i just took an exam worse than his.

@ Klaus: Yeah, I suppose so. I took it a year and a bit after I finished undergrad, so my memories may be biased with some '80% of this test is irrelevant to my job and I don't care'-ness.

In other news: I had a mock interview today and was told that if it were real, I'd have a job training people in public speaking and presentations...

in my somewhat limited experience in the area, i've found job counselors and the like are often off-base from actual employers with their advice for interviews and such. i had a SINGLE interview carried out by an HR lackey where that stuff might have applied.
