 I have returned from the first International Conference on the History of Games in Montreal. While I only attended the last day, I was able to meet several industry legends during a keynote: Jason Della Rocca, Brenda Romero, John Romero, Reid Schneider and Warren Spector. (And I believe John Carmack may have been there as well.)

 Spector, Romero and his wife spoke about the lost history of the development side of games, and how they salvaged design documents. (John Romero has papers and videos of every single game he has ever worked on.)

 There was also a presentation about cities in video games and the properties we associate to them (shooting, crime, driving, bowling.)

 It was quite awesome. And I think they were recording the whole thing, so you might be able to see it in the future.

I realize that, but you have to admit that's a pretty tiny deer.  Hardly seems worth the effort to dress out.

I went to see Equestria Girls today.  I was expecting it to be laughably bad at worst and mediocre at best.  Was surprised at the actual quality of it.

I realize that, but you have to admit that's a pretty tiny deer.  Hardly seems worth the effort to dress out.

i thought it was. i think it took us 6 months to consume that much meat and it saved a lot of money on the grocery bill. look at it this way, you were going hunting anyway, you are about to head back and call it quits, then you come across a young buck. you can either come home empty handed, or shoot it. if i have a shot im gonna take it. i would have preferred the 10 point buck that hangs out around the post office every year around hunting season. but this bull**** about hunting within city limits, a quarter mile from an airport. whoever writes those regs needs to be shot, chopped up, and placed in plastic bags labeled "pork".

Rained in up at work. Can't do any fieldwork as the roads have turned to muck, and my Thursday departure back home has been pushed out by at least 48 hours, potentially more if it doesn't clear up soon. Not a fan.
