Went shooting again today

Since our normal group was missing one, there was a replacement person instead
He got his brow split open because he didn't figure the glass hitting his face would happen...
...despite his face being pretty close to the rifle which chambers .300 Winchester Magnums

So he bled everywhere

Then the battery on the truck decided "Nope" and we ended up having to meet new and random people in order to get 'er started again

I'm amazed at how many people don't have jumper cables. I mean really? I grew up in a city where every single person who had a car had jumper cables (-50C temperatures wreck havoc on batteries). If you needed a boost, twenty people would be able to come to your aid

I'm amazed at how many people don't have jumper cables. I mean really? I grew up in a city where every single person who had a car had jumper cables (-50C temperatures wreck havoc on batteries). If you needed a boost, twenty people would be able to come to your aid

I know, it's nuts.  But it's also crazy how many people don't buy a fire extinguisher for their vehicles, too.  Show of hands - who here has a fire extinguisher in their car?

So the Texas Senate tried to practically ban abortion, but Democratic State Senator filibustered for 13 hours until she got removed vbecause of some bogus technicalities. And then, the Republicants tried to vote past midnight, which they did. The Democrats, Internet, and the mob in the gallery protested. Eventually, the Lt. Gov. conceded and said that it failed because it went past midnight. Then the Internet exploded and the crowd cheered. And then the Internet went to bed. I included.

My parents (I don't own my own car) have fire extinguishers in both their cars (For which I was very thankfull, as my dad accidently once spilled oil on the motor block when checking oil levels...), but I am not sure about the cables.

i just disassembled and old (80s-ish) portable tv i found in the dumpster by the thrift store. disassembly ensued. its full of useful if obsolete parts. especially inductors, i need inductors, especially ones with the value stamped on the side.

I know we don't
But that's because if our car catches fire, it gives us ample excuse to get a new one

I can't say I really see the utility of a fire extinguisher in a vehicle in most cases.  If things go badly enough that something has managed to catch on fire, I'm fine with standing well clear and letting it burn.

Dunno. If you happen to be in a spot (or have a car) in which getting out of the car is tricky for at least one of the occupants (parked next to railing, two doored cars), i'd rather go with the fire extinguisher.
