Okay we're not going to have this discussion again in this thread, so take it elsewhere (preferably where most of us don't have to see it) if that's what you're going for.

I agree with Mongoose, we already have a 20+ page topic on this. I don't know why you felt the need to randomly bring up gun control in this thread. I am guilty of replying to his gun control statement, but I couldn't allow him to get away with posting misinformation. It's the 'big lie,' if I allowed it to go unchallenged, someone might actually believe him, should he promulgate it enough times.

Joshua, should you wish to discuss this issue further, please resurrect the old gun rights topic, start one of your own or send me a private message.

I don't feel comfortable on the IRC anymore. Maybe Hard-Light Productions as a whole. I'm thinking about leaving, and I'm not sure anyone will miss me. I don't know what's wrong with me, so I can't change.

I've also gone dormant myself. I used to be a lot more active here. I believe this has little to do with the community but more to do with my declining interest with FreeSpace as a whole.

Also, people here come and go all the time. The sensible ones just vanish without making a big fuss about it and tend to come back for brief spells once in a while. Maybe some members will be missed, but for the most part, the community is usually unfazed by departures.
Hate to dig this up, but QFT. I haven't played FS in years. :(

Been too busy with school myself for long Freespace furloughs. Getting a BFA degree in the Fine Arts went from "Lol, this R fun!" to "OMG! What have I done?"

Put an axe to the majority of my personal projects to finish core classes and others things. One year left, and I'm free, forever.
Blame Blue Planet for my Freespace2 addiction.

Re: W-H-I-Y-L It's over <number goes here> (posts)
I just played FS for the first time in months this morning.  My son wanted to play "'Pace Andry Boyrds" (aka Star Wars Angry Birds, which he cannot play at all yet), so I offered to show him something more interesting.  I never finished Shadow Genesis the first time around because I got stuck on a mission that was either in a nebula or a gas giant (can't remember which).  Saw there had been an update, so gave that a whirl starting fresh.  Boy's interest was definitely engaged.  He kept saying, "I need to help you."  So I sat him on my lap and let him grab the joystick with me.

Probably not the best quality time I could be spending with him, but considering we spent most of the morning building star fighters out of my old lego kits, we kind of had a theme going.   :p

But let's face it, MP-Ryan was wrong on this one.

Excuse me, wrong on what now?  I believe I already highlighted your spectacular self-contradiction on the last page.

Thanks for the PM to clear it up, but if you're going to try to claim someone's assertions are incorrect in the public spaces of the forum, an explanation as to why (and a retraction when you realize you've made a mistake) are generally appropriate in that same space.

Sorry about the mistake, that actually wasn't MP-Ryan who said that guns are banned in the Netherlands, that was another poster. Could look it up, but really busy now. Sorry about that, Ryan.

Ehrm, I was not talking about gun control. I was talking about you. Your behaviour in discussions, regardless of the subject. The example I used was just pulled from the gun thread since that was the example still in recent memory. I have no interest on discussing the whole gun control thing further, simply because of your behaviour (as exemplified once again in this very thread).
