im giving ubuntu another try. needless to say i was so impressed with how quickly it installed and booted im once again considering taking the linux plunge.
now its time for linux driver hell, which is slightly less annoying these days. the machine still wont reboot or shut down right but i think my video drivers work. my mouse wheel on the other hand doesnt. my wireless nic is also not presant, but it cant get no signal anyways and i may just younk it. as a lab computer it can jack right into the router if the kitten didnt pull the plug again.
also gonna try out the x64 version of ksp. yay!
i keep being tempted to try linux installs but i fear I am not computer literate enough for it (although I am the computer geek in my office, that doesn't say much for my colleagues

) and i am not sure about trying to hunt down and install all the drivers for my laptop and if it will work right. Having never seen a linux install I am unsure whether the UI would be good for me (I see a lot of people who talk about Linux installs talking about code level type and command line type stuff

scary!! anyone recommend a linux install for a newbie (or noob if thats how you want to class me lol)?
