we really need to bring back the hard light installation. after posting a link to it on the ksp board they started their own community station. and i was wondering why the hell ours was in such a horrible state of disrepair.

i was wondering if the whole process could be automated with some web scripts. people would just stake a claim on a grid plot, upload a bitmaps to them and the server side stuff would hash it all into a png file whenever something changes. you would of course be allowed to change your plots whenever you want. you would be allowed to stake one plot initially, an each time you submit your pixel art you would be granted additional claims. if you submit a lot of art, you would be allowed to steak more claims (potentially even contiguous ones). so people who contribute the most are rewarded and encouraged to make bigger and better additions. so by turning it into a penis measuring contest, the station would become really awesome in no time.

Had Kendo tonight, after two months off due to the dojo moving I've become sloppy, must crack self with whip.  Also settled on a paint method for the tracks and running gear for my tiny tanks.  Tried out a few different methods but a dust coloured wash followed by some soft tone ink seems to look pretty good and is super easy to apply.  With four companies of tanks, half tracks and deuce n' a halfs efficiency is a major bonus.

Been watching DS9 to see what the fuss was all about and why this was oh so much better than TNG. Still in the middle of the first season, slightly entertained, enjoying the bromance between Constable and Quirk. Dax annoys me a bit, Kira is alright and Bashir I can ignore (so no problem).

First impression is that Avery Brooks is a lot less of an actor than Patrick Stewart, but that was a high standard to begin with.

Obligatory "it gets much better at the end of the second season". I'm guessing you also haven't reached Garak yet if you're ignoring Bashir (early Bashir is a complete dork though)?

Garak appears right on the second or third episode, making contact with Bashir who gets all excited to be in contact with a Cardassian spy (ohh my I'm like those cute spies from the 1960s). In a further episode, he placed Bashir behind a closet in his shop to hear a pair of hot Klingon mercenaries trying to deal with Cardassians.

Yes he is a dork, but a completely ignorable one (except in the Storyteller episode, where I just have to suffer him through). I do prefer to see Quirk for instance (despite the glaring basic antisemitism vibes I get from it). I hate the Ferengi precisely because it's probably the only race in Star Trek that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They merely exist for the creator to beat "capitalists" with his writing stick or whatever. Anything good that a Ferengi happens to do is despite being a Ferengi.

That also annoys me a bit, but I try not to think about it (it's hard).
