Where should I go to stand in the water at the beach? Somewhere along the vast expanse of shore among all these other people with the same idea? Or in this one small, suspiciously empty spot where a group of guys holding hard, pointy boards are running as fast as they can directly at me?

Related:  the beach is NOT a goddamn giant safe playpen for your kids to run amok in unsupervised.  besides annoying the **** out of everyone else on the beach, you're just asking for the little terror to get hurt.  or ****ing DROWN.  because it's a goddamn OCEAN.  the lifeguards are not babysitters.

Despite having been in school enough years to be a vet, I am not, sadly   (Also, if I'm regularly responsible for the deaths of fish in acute lethality tests in the course of my job, wouldn't that make me an awful vet?!) Lorric rightly said earlier that my career is in law enf.

On an earlier note, the minnow seems to have mostly recovered.  He's still got a bit of a list, but is much more energetic today.  Go little fish go!

Got a job interview next week for a job I'd actually like.

Got through to the final round for this, but it's the day after a major uni deadline next week AND I'm sick. Why do all these things always pile up? I feel like I don't even have time to breathe.

Had the final interview today. I think it went okay... they'll let me know in a couple of weeks!

Update: found out that these guys reference-checked me yesterday. I'm afraid to be hopeful, but things are looking better than before.
