Looked back at Disney's Fantasia for the first time since I was six. It's still rubbish.
I find it hard to believe Walt Disney of all people was behind it. As a six-year-old, it's like being tortured to death. You sit through an hour of classical-music screensavers, get a token prize in the form of a mediocre Mickey Mouse cartoon, then sit through
another hour of screensavers, by which time most of the kids in the room will have died of boredom. Then, just in case any of them survived, the film tries to finish them off by heart attack from
CHERNOBOG
Okay, more than a decade later I admit the last section was pretty impressive. But who's bright idea was it to put to put Mickey Mouse and
CHERNOBOG in the same film?
