You can get the game by itself for the respective price, or you could the game and another game for the same price as just the one game

I see everyone yelling and complaining at Rockstar because they decided to make the executive decision to give players a technically discounted offer which gets them ingame currency, and Max Payne 3 (or San Andreas)

This same deal, was available in January as a pre-order bonus

I laugh though, because I got GTA V from the Rockstar Warehouse. My discount for doing so was 16.5% because on the Rockstar Warehouse, physical or digital copies sell for 10$ less than their Steam counterpart. You want a sale? You want to pay less for a game? Buy from there. Stop complaining about the lack of a sale on a game you wanted to go on sale

Just because there's a Steam Sale, does not mean a developer needs to put their game on sale. Rockstar could've just left things as is, no bundle deals or anything. People probably would've lost their collective ****s anyways, but more so because hurr durr, no sale

I consider the bundle deals a great way to give back to those who didn't get the preorder chance at having an additional game to add to their collection

Agreed. Steam is not the center of the gaming universe, even if it is the point of origin for some.

A few things. One, misleading advertising. If I see GTA V advertised with a 25% off sticker, I am going to assume I'll be able to get the base game at a discount, not some bundle.
Two, Bundles are not always refundable under Steam's refund rules. This is admittedly something Steam needs to address, not Rockstar.

Now, I am not going to argue that those bundles aren't good value. I have no way of answering that. The deal they're offering is completely above-board and all that, but it is smelly, if you catch my meaning. Looks like I won in the the OPM hack. (Odds of winning: 1 in 1. Although they won't come right out and say it, EVERYONE'S records were "potentially" compromised. 4 million records, 2.7 million federal employees. The only question should have been how far back the "previous employee" leaked records went.) This notification arrived in my junk email folder flagged as phishing because the government is STILL ****ing this up and sending out the notifications unencrypted and not digitally signed (****ing lunch invitations get that treatment around here). I only know it WASN'T really a phishing attempt because of the email from the admiral telling us OPM ****ed it up and was going to take down the credit monitoring website and stop sending the notifications until they figure out how the hell the internet works.

In order to sign up for the credit monitoring, I have to give up far more info that was ever compromised to a private company, so I'll be passing on that. From what I understand so far (and it's entirely possible they've told us wrong) the identity theft insurance/restoration services are automatic. I think I'll just deal with the small chance of it actually happening to me instead of giving literally EVERYTHING to some company that contracted with the government to sit in yet another server ready to be leaked. In theory they are supposed to fix it for me if it does happen.

Also, there are about to be (already are) lawsuits out the ASS over this. No sense in trying to sort it all out before everything changes again.

I will admit, the fact that the breakdowns show GTA V standalone as some 80$ is annoying, but I chalked the breakdown up as an error in the way Steam displays the breakdown, not an error on Rockstar's part

Which is the main thing the rockpapershotgun article was pointing out as being scummy.

Overall, I just took a look, read things thoroughly, and came to the conclusion that they're just giving the preorder bonus to those who didn't preorder, and had to do a work around in order to do it. That to me, is being decent to your players. The work around just borked the ways things display, fault on Steam's breakdown for not showing the cash card

But, still, get it 10$ less from their Rockstar Warehouse (and you still get the preorder bonus with a physical copy). No one on Steam seems to acknowledge its existence and it annoys me

Who is being sued? As I understand it, you can't sue the federal government due to sovereign immunity.

The federal government itself is immune, but I do not think sovereign immunity extends to its agencies.

A union group has already filed (or said they were going to, I'm not sure which) over the fact that the compensation (18 months of credit monitoring and insurance) weren't negotiated. I expect more to follow. I'll be very surprised if one doesn't come up about how they delayed notifying us for more than a month after they knew (and even then it came from the news, not from them).
