Important Message Follows:In the last half hour I've come across something of an annoying (potentially) dangerous worm. This sends itself via email in the users name - when the reciever opens the mail it sends itself to everyone on that persons list and so on... in this manner it's spread extremely rapidly and I've already had two people reporting recieving it from me.
So far no effects have been found apart from its rapid spreading. I'm working with Hunter to see if we can find out exactly what effects (if any) there are - so far nothings been found.
If anyone recieves an email with the title "Hey", treat it with extreme caution. This thing appears to come from trusted friends which is how I fell for it in the first place.... best thing to do is to check with the person you recieved it from before opening or deleting it. That way genuine emails can be separated from this worm email.
The contents of the email are as follows:
hey.. how are you?
just wanted to tell you about this site: http://www.blueillusion.net/index.php .. check it out!
Do NOT click the link above.I'll keep you updated of developments. If anyone has any information on it please PM me.
Update 01:Hunter has tried re-booting his system after recieving the worm and there doesn't seem to be any problems so far.
