Hey, how do I pronounce Vicmouth?
I would rather be void of purpose than have the void be my purpose.

I'd say Vicmuth, emphasis on the first syllable

Can I be Kovacs please?  It is not my last name at all and I can sound country and tough or Ohio and detached.  Or country and detached.

Modification:  It is not like I came looking for ya'll.

The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

No, its more of a guttural, nasally, southern drawl.   :sigh:

Complete edit: I am more than willing to act out some blank spots in R1 if that would help.  I guess I should read post 1.

Wow, have not been getting any emails about this. FML. Should really start checking this on my own.

Okay so, again, might have missed a few in the junk emails. Also, at this time, I don't have much of a plan to get R2 voice acted. It's hell enough trying to get R1 acted with the same quality as AoA and not having some amazing voice actors brought on and then start ignoring me. I'm not even sure I'll be able to finish R1 at this rate.

I've managed to track down my lines for Ranvir and have sent them off as of a few minutes ago. Cobra, is there any timeframe for when Olefumi's lines might show up? I have the urge to audition for the role of Second Fleet's only spacefaring pig! :)

Any contingency plans you have for the rest of the staff and/or community in case all goes to hell?

You could... start practicing by playing the missions he's in or looking up his lines in FRED.  :D

Well, I did do some narration in my last job for Articulate Presenter eLearning so I think I'll take this a shot.

I'll try out for Zinny and Major Prathanya roles unless they are already filled.

OK, Zinny and Major Prathanya OGG files have been sent to the naboo_2 hotmail address.

I didn't apply any noise filters, but I did trim out the dead spots.

Re: War in Heaven P1 Voice Acting Call, Take 2

I should have some time off from work on Tuesday and Wednesday.  I've always wanted to give some of this a shot, so I'll send you everything I can get done in that time.

Re: War in Heaven P1 Voice Acting Call, Take 2
I recently got a new soundcard for recording, so I sent in an audition. I might do a couple more over the next few days.
[16:57] <CommanderDJ> What prompted the decision to split WiH into acts?
[16:58] <battuta> it was long, we wanted to release something
[16:58] <battuta> it felt good to have a target to hit
[17:00] <RangerKarl> not sure if talking about strike mission, or jerking off
[17:00] <CommanderDJ> WUT
[17:00] <CommanderDJ> hahahahaha
[17:00] <battuta> hahahaha
[17:00] <RangerKarl> same thing really, if you think about it

Re: War in Heaven P1 Voice Acting Call, Take 2
Audition for Norfolk sent. I'll see if I can send some more later. Are there any other roles whose audition lines are ready to be posted?

BTW, if Solaris Control is cast, you might as well remove the role's audition lines.

Also, to anyone reading the thread who's thinking of submitting auditions, please do. You have little to lose, and although the thought of potentially thousands of people hearing your voice can be scary (it is for me), sitting in front of the microphone can actually be a lot of fun.

When I first tried to record the audition lines for Diaspora R1, I lost my nerve and gave up. It wasn't until an hour later that I got the courage back to get the lines recorded and submitted, and I ended up getting cast for a couple of roles. So stage fright is normal; don't be afraid to try. :)

If you're looking for inspiration on how to deliver the lines, I'd suggest playing through FS2 and AoA again and paying close attention to the VAs -- or, for the quick version, watching Spidey's trailer.

Re: War in Heaven P1 Voice Acting Call, Take 2
Hey guys,
I'm a little new to the forums, I've played a lot of bp, and would like to audition. This looks like it was posted a while ago, are the instructions posted still valid? And I don't know anything about .oggs so...

Re: War in Heaven P1 Voice Acting Call, Take 2
As far as I know, the instructions are still valid.

.ogg files are audio files encoded using the Ogg Vorbis format, similar to how .mp3 audio files are encoded using the MP3 format.

You can use Audacity, a free audio editor, to record your voice and export to Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) format. Use the "Export..." or "Export selection..." commands under the File menu on the Audacity menu bar.

EDIT: Well, strictly speaking, Ogg is more than just audio with Vorbis, but for the purposes of VA recording, it's all you need.
