I meant WoK being better than any NG movies and the last TNG movie (Resurrection??? sumfing??? Uprising??? Recession??? The Parlimainet???, right Insurrection!!!) was the worst of 'em all, not counting the voyage home.

Are you insane? The Voyage Home was a classic film of all time - let alone one of the good Star Trek films. Alright it pretty much abandoned space all together but the story, humor and acting kicked ass.

fine, fine, I'll choose Insurrection, if it means I won't be banned. Actually I'll choose Insurrection anyway. I just feel, Star Trek should be... about going where no man etc. not about.. eh... looking for whales in the 20th century.

Lol, I won't ban you for it dude - don't worry :)
Anyways, I see what you mean in so far that it deviates from your average experience of a Star Trek film. But as a film on it's own it's really very good.

I never liked Star Trek 5, not sure why...

The Voyage Home ruled. Spock acting as a hippie or whatever was just freaking hilarious - that one proved that you don't need huge space battles or truckloads of fancy effects to have a great sci-fi movie.

And let's not talk about ST:V. I just want to forget I ever watched that thing... :D

  • What is this? I don't even...
First Contact was my favorite. It had a little bit of everything in it.
Seeing Troi pass out drunk was amusing. Worf was cool in it too.. "Assimilate this" *BOOM*

Star Trek 2, 4 and 6 were the best.

First contact was probably the best TNG movie out of all of them.

Well, FC was indeed the best TNG movie, but The Wrath of Khan rules all. Come on, it has the best space battle ever, and one of the coolest villains ever created...

Insurrection... not the best, but not the worst either. Somewhere in the middle, sounds about right to me.

Thats because their Polaron weapons were damned good at going partially through Federation shielding.  So...all of those Alpha Quadrant ships were taking hull hits alot of the time.

Transphasic torpedoes are fun and Ablative Hull Armor is even cooler :)

STII, then VI, IV for the humor, ST: TMP because of the art direction

On the next gen movies the only one of note is First Contact.

Styxx is absolutely right, Wrath of Khan has the best damn space battle ever ;)

Yea it looks great. But size and configuration wise she's no flapship for all of Starfleet.

And the Saber ? It's like the YT-1300 of startrek :D

Small...fast...with a nasty sting.

First Contact for one simple reason:

First of all, for future shows or movies have we forgotten about species 8472???? ?

Or how about when the 2 Q's duel on Voyager, the Q (everyone knows) said that Starfleet isn't supposed to be out in the Delta Quadrent for another century?

Or how about this the Preservers come back or a new artifact found :

Like in the book of Federation written by Judith & Garfield Reeves
Here's an excerpt

The ship moves through domains of space unimagined by Cochrane, powered by engines incomprehensible to Scott or La Forge.   But all three engineers would recognize it's destination, deep within the voids between galaxies.

The captain of the ships holds up her hand to the main bridge view wall and with her  thumb bolts out the Milky Way as it recedes from her , sidewarp factor 55.

"Beacon signal converging as predicted," her data officer announces. "Dropping to warp speed." the ship slows to a relative crawl as the main viewer switches to the forward scan.  Against a sprinkling of distant galaxies, one blue beacon stands out as the ship closes.  "Moving to sublight ....and relative stop."

The ship hangs tens of milllions of light-years from any star, from any matter larger than a grain of dust, except for a slilver of structure dead ahead, the structure whose presence was made known to them by sidespace  radio after the final inauguration ceremony and all spacefaring cultures in the Milky Way had been joined in one grand Federation.  That so the current theory went, had been the trigger for the invitation.

The translator tanks identify markings on the side of the structure as consistent wit similar markings recorded on so-called Preserver artifacts.  The Cochrane delta is there among them.  Science tanks confirm that the radiation signature is consistent with postulated controlled-access corridors to multiple universes.  The Captain shakes her head in amazement. "Multiple Universes" she says to her data officer, the words, the entire concept still unreal to her.  "Do we accept the invitation captain?"

The captain stares into the beckoning doorway of the silver structure between the galaxies, contemplating an infinite ocean of time and space into which life could expand, its fate no longer tied to a single world, a single galaxy, or now, even a single universe.

"Helm, full ahead," she orders.  "Lets see what's on the other side."  Like another explorer centuries before her, who stood on the brink of an equal adventure, her eyes blur with tears even as she laughs, the reason for either response a mystery to her, rooted deep in that which makes her human.
In the language of the time, the ship is called ENTERPRISE, and she slides forward, accepting the invitation, once more going where none have gone before.

For even here, even now, the adventure is still just beginning...

See, there's room for imagination in this...
