(Don't correct me if that's not where this is, there was one guy with the accent and I choose to believe this creature is an Aussie native.)

Scuse you? 'Straya might have lovely arachnids, but last time I checked we don't have fish that swim up your dick to suck your blood.  :P

Man'o'wars are like the least scary thing. They're about as malicious as a nettle.
The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

If you don't want to be corrected, then whatever you do, don't look at the thread title.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

So, the Shivans were just mad at the cruel humiliation of their little cousins' scouts that were sent to Earth?

Those guys seem pretty good natured considering they were just grabbed out of their normal environment by giants.  Most bugs I've seen would be biting like mad or at least scrambling to try to get away!

Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

You ARE aware that most people's posts include a subject line, right? And that subject line, by default, is "Re: [original subject here]"? And that your post about Australia has a subject line that mentions the Amazon? Cuz, y'know, just checking. :p

"Tail-less whip scorpion"?

Sounds a lot like the vinegaroons (whip-tailed scorpion) we have around the American southwest. About the ugliest creatures in existence, but pretty much harmless.

Vinegaroons don't have long legs like that, though.

Maybe he thought it's about the other Amazon? It was actually the first thing I thought about when I saw the thread title. :) I guess I spend too much time on the internet...

The "Tail-less Whip Scorpion" belongs to the order of arachnids known as Amblypygi, while Vinegaroons belong to the order Thelyphonida. They share many aspects but the main difference between the two is that Thelyphonids have a body that looks like a scorpion without the bulky tail, while Amblypygids look more like spiders.

One of those cases where things look similar but are in fact only kind of related.
