I found this very nice website that allows you to very simply draw stuff... Okay, I have no idea how to explain, take a look at it yourselves;

Anyway, I was thinking someone with some real talent could do some nice weapon sprites using this, I got this just by doodling a bit

Bit of a problem with how this particular beam hits a ship:



(this is just because of how I made the beam; it has an alpha channel and isn't fully bright, so it looks dark when it's rendered on top of the impact explosion. If I took out the alpha channel this would be fine)

Effects used: two pulse effects (one not shown) and the beam (the beamglow I used for the pic is the recolored Shivan MVPs effect from DE)
